    Re: 2019 Offseason Thread

Along with "reports" that KD is pissed at GS for making him play in Game 5, I cannot wait until free agency is over. This is nauseating.

I don't even know why guys like Ric Bucher, Windhorst, Stein even get posted. They literally never broke anything before.

In other news, the Knicks as an organization got fined $50K for banning the NY Daily News from their press conference introducing rookies RJ Barrett and Iggy.

Pretty sure James Dolan wipes his butt with that.

We post them because they help drive discussion. Free agency would be mighty boring if only posted each report by Shams or Woj once deals are final.

Bucher may have no idea what he's talking about, but Vegas is usually pretty accurate.. KD to the Nets?

None of them ever break anything but they always have something to say, and when the real trades break it never comes from them.

Does that make it more or less likely that DLo is a Laker next season?

In terms of fit, he may be the most practical option available, assuming Kawhi is out of the picture which I would say is 99.9% the case "per my sources" lol.

I say that because if the free agent options are slim pickins he's a guy they can sign to play SG or PG. If certain shooting guards are commanding too much money they can add a point man, if there is a solid SG ready to sign DLo is the point guard. In a situation where they were adding Jimmy or Kemba they would HAVE to hit on the opposite position as well. This gives a bit more flexibility.

I like that move for the Blazers. Though they still need more of a true SF on the roster that isn't the same trio they played last year.

No word yet on if any draft picks are headed to Atlanta I would think it would be a 2nd rounder or something.

Same here. Turner didn't give them much anymore. They need to find a replacement for Aminu too though

No other draft picks are headed to Atlanta so I guess we just wanted to get worse in this trade. The only reason it makes sense is if Kent asked for a trade unless you think Turner is a option as the backup ball handler. The cap savings are only 700K

Dang, another missed opportunity by insiders.

While they were busy making up stories about Durant's emotional status they totally missed this trade happening.

Exactly, Vegas can be a pretty reliable source. They had the LeBron odds correct last year, -5000 on June 30th. Woj on July 4th reported that LeBron to Philly was "still a possibility" and then hours later he officially signed with LA. I'd take Vegas for speculation over any reporter.

I'm now fully expecting Kyrie and KD to be Nets this year. Pack should be back in here no later than July 1st to gloat.

They even had Kawhi to Raptors correct.

And it played out exactly how the odds went. Teams like Celtics and 76ers were ahead of Raptors, but all deals didn't happen and Raptors got their chance. Ujiri even said himself that Raptors weren't one of teams in running at first.

His story basically confirmed the vegas odds that everyone had followed for weeks.

Not saying all Vegas odds are to be trusted in these situations, but they definitely know stuff people dont. Even when Raptors were faves to deal for Kawhi, I thought it was just because Raptors fans were betting like crazy.

But what about the changing Vegas odds?

They once had the Knicks as the favorite to land KD. But now it's the Nets?

Vegas doesn't have any secret scoop no one else has. They are playing up the rumors they hear and the odds that net them the biggest return.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

Jimmy Butler had a good postseason. But I wouldn’t upset if Sixers aren’t able to resign him. I rather focus that energy on Tobias. I feel he is a better fit. Plus I really don’t like the idea of having 4 max players and being in the luxury tax. I rather resign Harris, Reddick, and using the remaining space to fill out roster. Big problem last year was the bench. They have to fix that if they want to be a title contender
