Sorry I can't read, had it backwards. And FWIW, Broussard is the one who started that conversation of "why would he leave Boston and go to BK by himself?" so that will probably make its rounds

Technically speaking, she never said they didn't know how the cap works. That headline has been misconstrued from what she actually said.

Regardless, if she's supposed to be a mouthpiece for the Lakers, why would she say something that makes them look bad? That's what I don't get.

Either way, there's definitely some kind of media-being-bought going on in LA for sure. The narrative of the Lakers assets literally went from in February "trash, not enough, NY/BOS/etc all have better packages waiting in the summer" to post-trade "great coup for Griffin, Lakers vastly overpaid". Of course many people like to dismiss theories like these, but let's be real; billionaires like Steve Ballmer are ****ing ruthless sharks and didn't become as successful as they did by playing nice.

I wonder who is going to go after Rozier? His value dropped so much since a year ago. Plus his comments after Bucks this playoffs had to put some teams off. He came off as a non-team player. Basically said he missed out on a lot of money due to mainly Kyrie and not getting enough shots.
I think the draft dictates where Rozier ends up. I can see Magic as the most likely team.

She said the Lakers got on the phone with the Pelicans and tried to alter the trade the day after.

In regards to the bolded, what's this conspiracy theory that she's not supposed to share any criticism of the team?

Not sure I'm following this media thing you keep trying to push. The landscape changed when Rich Paul said AD is not signing an extension with the Cs. Again, there was no other deal on the table besides the Lakers offer.

If the Lakers really didn't understand how the cap and all that worked like some of the reports are saying they need to get someone in there who is competent and ditch having 30 people making decisions.. If that's the case this whole thing is hilarious though.

You got Lakers people out there calling Rob some sort of "CBA wizard" and then the other side reporting he doesn't know how the cap works, is learning in real time.

Regardless I would be really surprised if someone wouldn't trade for Wagner with 2nd round picks and take on the other two contracts for cash considerations from LAL.. Wagner IMO will be a solid role player and have a long career, could even wind up with a David Lee type ceiling. In a draft as up and down as this years, he would likely be pretty close to back of the lottery value, at worst case late first round value.

From what I understand, according to many Lakers fans, Ramona is Jeannie's mouthpiece. So if that's true (and still true), and let's say the Lakers really "forgot" to discuss the timing of the deal, which makes them look really stupid (though that narrative has existed for awhile and proven to be true), doesn't the expression "damage control" come to mind? Wouldn't Jeannie not want her girl reporting that on national TV? That whole thing is just puzzling to me and that's why I'm starting to really not believe anything that's being reported anymore from the national networks, when it comes to speculation anyway. Shams and Woj bombs, not Woj speculations, seem to be the only reliable pieces of information these days.

Sorry but that's not her job to go on TV and do damage control for a specific team.

I don't think any front office worth their salt wouldn't have covered all the bases when agreeing to such a large trade. That is why I think the "reports" are correct that the Lakers simply missed it.

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think Pelinka (acting as GM) himself is reading through every fine detail of a trade. They have people for that.

It could be (and I think likely), that the trade was agreed upon in principle and details are being worked out as it nears completion...like many, many other trades.....

You're just going to have to get used to all the extra stuff that comes with the Lakers being back in the spotlight. Remember, this trade was only happening over the Pels owners dead body in the first place, lol

Oh, and Windy says the Clippers are "hyperventilating" over Kawhis decision..

A report from ESPN’s Brian Windhorst on Thursday morning noted that the Clippers are internally panicking over the possibility that Leonard could sign with the New York Knicks.

“The Clippers have a great organization and they’ll be fine but interiorly, they’re hyperventilating right now,” Windhorst noted. “I think Kawhi will give the Knicks a look.”
