It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest but their owner has the deepest pockets in the NBA and they don't have draft picks to take away (lmao) so I'm not sure how you really punish them if they were guilty of anything.

Re: 2020 Offseason Thread
IIRC, it was something like his uncle wanted ownership stake, private plane and a house.
Won't be surprised at him getting some sort of stake either in the Clippers or another one of Balmers business ventures. Probably ended up getting a private plane and house too, afterall, distance from San Diego and LA, a plane would help.
They have a 2021 pick (either their own or NY), 2023 pick (their own or OKC), 2025 pick (their own or OKC) and then every year from 2027 onwards, so it could happen.
IF NBA takes away their picks, I wonder if it could go to the Raptors. If they find LAC guilty of this, and it happened to be before the FA window opened up, couldn't that count as tampering?Last edited by Majingir; 12-17-2020, 11:55 PM.Comment

Re: 2020 Offseason Thread
The lawsuit also alleges that on or about July 1, 2019, before the Clippers' free-agency meeting with Leonard, Wilkes informed West that the Clippers needed to pitch to the All-Star that he "will have a great life as a Clipper and after basketball" if he signs. Wilkes also claims to have said that the Clippers needed to emphasize that they have a roster with upside that will remain competitive and that they "will do whatever it takes to compete with the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James."no ****, if that was the advice
Among the claims Wilkes makes is that on June 29, 2019, he informed a man named Sam Watson "that the Clippers needed to sign Paul George in order to get Kawhi Leonard to sign." According to the lawsuit, Watson relayed that information to West.

I wouldn't be surprised at all. Seems like the demands in Toronto got ridiculous too.
