Has that been made official about High Schoolers going straight to the NBA?

I know Silver talked about it in 2019 but I haven’t seen or heard anything since that said it was going to happen for sure?

It still needs to be negotiated between the owners & NBAPA, but rumors have it happening by the 2022 NBA draft.

That draft will be really, really loaded with preps - to - pros & the 2022 one - and - done class.

I don't know why. I can't get into this talk about Bronny. I don't know why. He's just too young. Call me when he's a senior and rated number one lol.

I really hope they expand G-League for these one and done. Really **** NCAA lol.

Imagine if Bronny turns out to be a superstar in high school and consensus #1 draft pick and you're the team that gets him and his dad. Best offseason ever?

Also if it's Cleveland, then NBA is definitely rigged.

I suppose for ticket sales sure. If he ends up a superstar it’ll be no different than being the Cavs when they drafted LeBron. You got a superstar, generational player, was that considered the best offseason ever? In Cavs history? Possibly. NBA? Not even close. I say that based solely on the fact LeBron will be 39, 40 at that point? He’s not gonna be the player he needs to be to make that the best offseason ever.

Other angle to Bron’s new deal. His contract with the Lakers expires when Bronny graduates from high school and can enter the NBA draft if the league changes the high school-to-pro rule. So LeBron is lining it up to sign with whatever team drafts Bronny.

Knowing that, if you’re AD, do you lock yourself into LA long term with a 5 year deal and take over the franchise once Bron is gone? Or line up your deal to end with Bron’s then have your choice of where to go from there? Or sign on for 1 year then get out early if you don’t repeat this season?

At first I thought LeBron was 4 years now instead of the 3 didn't know at first that the first year of the 2 year extension replaces the player option he had for 2021-22 season. Maybe AD should do a 3 year with a player option for year 4 that way after 3 he can see if lebron is going to go play with his son or not and if he is maybe the Lakers can bring in another star to replace LeBron. If he does 3 year with player option it would give him a chance to see how the Lakers might look after year 3 and if they can still compete for a championship or not after that. I have said I thought LeBron has about 4 years left in the tank.

That was the last I heard but that was in May 2019 and pre-COVID.

And I know they’re probably going to renegotiate another CBA after this season because of COVID, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they push that to 2023 or even 24.

And just wait until certain arenas/stadiums start requiring evidence of vaccination for attendance. That's when it will get interesting.

I don't think so. I believe that would be unconstitutional or something to that effect.

Even though I'm Canadian, I love the fierce mistrust Americans have for their own government (I'm being 100% serious). It always gives me hope that we will not turn into some minority report BS. I don't think you can prevent people who didn't get a measles vaccine from attending sports/flights etc. It's something of a personal choice? The legal ramifications would be pretty intense. And even though it may provide some level of short-term convenience the long term president would be too negative to allow for that.

Another point of interest for me is the Moderna/Pfizer approach (new Rna) vs the Oxford Uni (traditional one). Personally I will not get the new one and would only consider taking the traditional method for myself and my family. The newer ones also have creepy application methods and other associated technology I'm not down with and it will be interesting to see how leagues like the NBA handles vaccines (let alone fans!). I'm not sure they can force players to take the vaccine (new or otherwise)... I'm not even sure if you can have an "opt out/opt in" program because you're basing employment on taking a vaccine at that point which again, I think is a personal choice.

I think if you start seeing a pluralistic approach like the one you are alluding to regarding fans, eventually, you'll see major blow-back from the public demanding an end to that type of doing business.

I'm also not judging those who would run out and get the new one - I just don't want to be the first in such a rushed environment.

This topic is much bigger than sports - but one of the new techs can create an invisible tattoo which can be scanned via infra-red. So the boarding call for your flight is announced and they scan everyone's forearm to make sure they have had their shot. Not sure I want to live in a world like that.

I think he even said " if we could join up on a team Milwaukee, LA, whatever..." I think that was referring to him and his brothers, but still trolling at this point lol.

He didn’t mention LA at all and was talking specifically about Milwaukee in that interview. And this got spun into “He wants to team up with Lebron!”

NBA fans are weird lol and Giannis needs to hurry up and sign this extension

Nah I wouldn’t worry about it he is just figuring out the details I’m sure it will happen soon now that Lebron has been extended
