Wizards basically saying, draft picks? We don't need no stinkin draft picks.

Weird way for the Wall era to end for damn sure.

I expect it to be terrible for both teams. Neither of those two pairing are a good fit at all, IMO.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I’d say Wall is much more of a willing passer. But who knows how much he can go after all the time off.

I think Russ in DC is ripe for a disaster because of the drop off of the rest of the roster.

I can’t even feel bad for Beal because he wanted to stay there.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, is Harden even gonna give up the ball? Lol. I just can’t see Wall standing in the corners waiting for a pass.

John Wall on his way to Houston like:

          Alabama Crimson Tide
          Green Bay Packers
          Boston Celtics

            In other words, nothing changed.

Because that’s exactly what folks were saying about the Wizards WITH Wall coming back.

They weren’t a threat with him on the team this year and they still aren’t even with Westbrook. They’ll be one of those 4 teams competing for those last 2 playoff spots though. Westbrook, Beal, Bertans and Rui can still can compete with any of those bottom teams.

Yeah, I don't see Wall and Harden as a good pairing at all. You are hoping that Harden is willing to play off the ball a lot more. All while having a rookie HC who is expected to manage that and have championship expectations off rip. I can see Beal and Westbrook being the "better" pairing, but also see WB taking the ball out of Beal's hands more.

But, I agree its a lateral move for both teams. It doesn't make either team better or worse. Still see Rockets as a top 6 seed. And either Hawks or Washington at 8th

I would agree if Wall has at least 80% of his form self left & that pick isn't in the high teens (but out of the lottery).

Sad to see John's time in DC ending on a low point, but I think the team wanted to move on after he tore his achilles. [emoji28]

I also want to remind of my theory of an Achilles injury. Probably not getting the John Wall we remember in this deal.

But agree with everyone. It's a wash trade.

Brooks and Westbrook are reunited and were/are quite fond of each other.

We also finally get the Wall and Boogie pairing we've been waiting so long for!

While I’m not a Westbrook fan by any means I think it’s a good trade for Washington and they are the clear winners easily worth the protected pick. This should also confirm they are in the play in games for the playoff atleast. They have a solid 8 guys now on paper.

The biggest reason is Russell has always been healthy and wall hasn’t played in 2 years. He is coming off the worst injury you can have In the sport. When he comes back if doesn’t look the same or gets hurt then your stuck with him and you might have to trade Beal. For all his flaws Russell is going to play every night, compete and try to win. He is going to put up stats and was 3rd team all NBA last year on 27,7 and 7 I’ll take that over wall who hasn’t played in 2 years. If he puts up similar numbers this year then he becomes a lot more tradeable then wall.

Only other major move I could see is Clippers upgrading their PG spot and possibly Rozier being on the move. Do the Clippers really want to go another Season with Beverly and Jackson as their primary PGs. They only had 2 players average over 4 assists and that was Lou Will and Kawhi. Also could see Hornets wanting to give Ball as much playing time as possible

Other than that, I don't really foresee any other major movement prior to season

Yea hornets moving him makes sense as they don’t need him at PG.

I could see Houston trading Eric Gordon I’m just not sure who is going to want to pay him that much for the next 4 years. It would have to be for someone like Kevin Love.

Wall ruptured his Achilles just like KD, correct? And both missed an entire season?

They both should be talked about in the same vein if so.

Wall looked good in the few pickup game videos I’ve seen but who knows.
