Re: 2020 Offseason Thread
LeBron won't be around forever. I don't know how long AD's prime will be but the way player movement is now I could easily see him being gone.Comment

Yea that’s the number I was expecting also and I assume Atlanta would quickly offer that. Even if he has no interest in actually leaving every agent is going to use Atlanta to raise the price tag up.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

Re: 2020 Offseason Thread
I was under the impression that Bertans would land himself a nice deal. Y'all think he's in play for LAL under an exception? Interesting."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

I just want shooting. I'm terrified of Okoro, not because I don't think he can turn into a star but because I'm certain we can't turn him into a star."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: 2020 Offseason Thread
I think it just depends. He could very well have played himself into that 15 range, but full MLE is right around 10 and if the Lakers wanted to throw the full 4 years at him he could get around 40 mil guaranteed money from them with shots at winning rings..
I think he’s too young to do that, and likely priced out of LALs range but definitely someone they would be keeping an eye on to see what the market looks like for him. He most likely will try to land at least 1 big pay day, this likely his only one even if it’s a 1-2 year deal.
More realistically I think someone like Gallo could be in play. He’s lived there before (no idea if he liked or hated it) and while someone might still offer him say 15-18 for a year the Lakers could throw 3 at 8mil a year all guaranteed money or something along those lines. He’s at the age where the longer term guarantee is injury insurance and shots at winning, could be enough to bait him over.

Re: 2020 Offseason Thread
I’d like to have be able to have some kinda clean slate with the new FO/development coaches, but then it’s like when is the last time we drafted a project, not even that panned out, but that by the time they were scheduled to pan out, the guys who drafted them were still here? Hard to imagine anyone who needs consistent work getting it in that environment.
People seem to be pretty high on Vassell from what I’ve seen. We basically can’t afford to draft someone who can’t shoot at this point, RJ, Mitch, and Randle guaranteed to be out there for 30+. Are there any PGs that can shoot out there that aren’t going to cost us whatever it seems like FVV is going to?Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Y’all are kinda ****ed in this draft. I’d vote trading back if it landed you someone who’s already shown to be productive.
NBC’s mock has Ball dropping to y’all, but I don’t see that. I’m not high on him anyways but this draft is so bad as far as sure things, or star potential, IMO.
Or package Randle to move up, I’m assuming he’s not part of the long term plans. But again I don’t see a slam dunk here worth doing that. Trading back with a team like Boston or New Orleans might be a solid move. Pick 8 to New Orleans for pick 13 and Josh Hart, pick 8 to Boston for pick 14 and 26, 8 and Randle to Orlando for Gordon and 15, idk but it feels like anybody that might benefit New York at 8 has a similar guy later in the draft.

Re: 2020 Offseason Thread
So Billy Donovan cleaned house on the Bulls coaching staff as he fired 4 assistant coaches. Typically this probably isn’t news for a team with a new head coach but it’s a deal here as it’s one more example of ownership letting go of the reigns a bit more and allowing Arturas to do his job unimpeded. The Bulls have been the type of franchise that will hire a coach and give him no say in his staff.

Don’t love Chicago’s draft spot either. Would like to see them make a move to trade up or back or for a solid player already in the league.
