Hey don't disrespect Broussard like that, he's the guy that on live television CONFIRMED LeBron was returning to Cleveland right after they finished talking about the SI article announcing his return home.

      MULTIPLE SAUCES!!

In all seriousness, I’m only moving LeVert, Dinwiddie and picks if it gets us Beal(which won’t happen anyway), since he’d fit much better next to Kyrie and Kev than PG would.

Keep in mind you will have more of a need for a shooter once Joe Harris signs with Atlanta lol

Marc Gasol appears to be signing in Spain.

It was fun while it lasted

            Didn't see that one coming.

Maybe he just doesn't wanna be over here in the States/Canada anymore.

Probably just winding down his career. He accomplished what he wanted to in the NBA. So now just play in Spain and retire after that.

He'll be 36 by time next season starts, and who knows what next season in the NBA will even be like.

And next year will be the first season without a Gasol in the NBA in 20 years.

It doesn't feel like he's old since he was drafted in 2007 and only entered the league in 2008.

But he was 24 by time he entered, so he debuted the same year as Westbrook, but is the same age as CP/Dwight.

Can you imagine that trio? They'd be easily be the most hated-team ever with those 3 personalities.

This would literally be the same situation he was just in with Kawhi. There is too much overlap between Durant & George for that to work, IMO.

And that is without saying anything about how none of the three are elite playmakers & all their games are ISO heavy in nature.

I completely pass if I'm Brooklyn especially with "having to" give up (as if the market for George is high at this point) so much to acquire him.

After a productive Wednesday of talks with Sixers, Doc Rivers has emerged as a serious candidate in process to hire a new coach, sources tell ESPN. Rivers left town after meeting with ownership and GM Elton Brand. Mike D’Antoni remains other prominent candidate in search.

Figured that. He’s a better fit for them than D’Antoni in the sense that they’re not going to have to significantly change their roster to play a certain system.

                        If I had to guess:

                        Doc: Sixers
                        Lue: Clippers
Pelicans: Cassell, Unseld Jr or Kidd.
Pacers: One of the other 2 who the Pelicans don’t hire.

I'm not sure if coaching is even something he would want to do but I always thought Greg Anthony would be a great hire. You listen to him talk and he really knows his stuff but not just that he always has a good grasp on EVERYONE in the league. He's not just paying attention to certain teams, certain stars, he gets it all. Even as an assistant primarily used for scouting reports on opponents he would be great. But he may have zero interest in that, that is a lot of time committed to being away from your family.

Sounds like Ballmer made the decision to fire Doc and he was PISSED at the meltdown and wanted to fire the whole coaching staff and players, lol.

In today’s “Ryen Russillo Podcast,” (~37 minute mark) with Bill Simmons, they talk about what they were hearing on Doc’s firing. Russillo & BS both heard Ballmer went ballistic after the Clippers meltdown against the Nuggets and wanted to get rid of everyone (coaches & players included). He was talked out of it after a week, but then, he decided to fire him over the Front Office’s wishes because he lost faith in everyone telling him what he should do for these reasons:

According to them, Ballmer grew tired of spending all this money on a high-priced coaching staff that wasn’t listening to the high-priced analytics staff to play Zubac over Harrell, specifically. Plus, there was the whole 3-1 blown lead.

The loss of trust in the Front Office, though, was interesting, due to the connection to Michael Porter, Jr. playing well against them in the Nuggets series. If you recall, in the 2018 draft, the Clippers had the 12th & 13th picks they ended up with SGA (trade w/CHA for Miles Bridges) & Jerome Robinson—both who are no longer with the team.

Meanwhile, MPJ was taken with the 14th pick by the very team that just knocked them out of the playoffs. Ballmer was very familiar with him, being from Seattle, and wanted the team to draft him. Apparently, the Front Office said he was undraftable, as did many FO’s at the time, according to Russillo. That didn’t seem to matter to Ballmer, however, now that he seems to be a young star on the rise.

And so, to watch him playing well against his team, who has given up their first round picks for the next 8 years and has no young stars waiting in the wings in case Kawhi & PG leave after next season, that was just too much. And, so, he took the reins and decided he was going to do what he wanted to do: Fire Doc. But, I wouldn’t be surprised if there aren’t more roster changes. Sounds like he is still really angry.

                            Source: Ryen Russillo Podcast
The analytics guys were absolutely right about Zubac over Harrell and there's no defending Doc and his *** lineups. The MPJ thing is understandable too, everyone knew he had injury concerns but with B2B picks they should've used one on MPJ.

I will say in that it seems like the responsibilities of coaching evolve because nowadays it’s moreso important to be able to manage egos/personalities than it is coming up with a great Xs and Os plan.

I assume LA has the bird rights for AD? Can they sign a random FA to a big deal and then go over the cap by using AD's bird rights ?

The site I used for offseason is no longer up as the guy is now the cap guru for klutch.
