Re: 2020 Offseason Thread
No it doesn’t. Sorry.
This isn’t a deep draft at all.
If that rumor is real (I don’t think it is), then the Bucks front office are a bunch of dopes.Comment

Re: 2020 Offseason Thread
I think the opposite. I think this draft is very deep. I don't blame New Orleans for gambling on the potential Bucks collapse but there's a decent chance the Celtics picks turn out better than whatever those future picks look like. Of course that's easy for me to say now when we have no idea what the Bucks might look like 5 years from now nor do we know anything about what those draft classes might look like.NFL: Bills

Re: 2020 Offseason Thread
Where exactly is the depth? Certainly not PGs or bigs. Shooters? No.
If you want a 3&D guy, this is your draft.
There is no consensus #1. No Final Four breakout star. No elite overseas player. The top PG played 12 pro games. The top big left school.
I bet we approach a record number of teams trading down and into next year’s class.Comment

Re: 2020 Offseason Thread
I don't really understand how AB can decline his player option and get more money from GS.. They are over the cap, they don't have the MLE, the tax payer MLE that they do have is basically the same amount of money he was getting from LAL and they would have to give all of it to him rather than split it, so he's not getting more money from them. That would leave them with room for only minimum deals so not shot at better free agents... Doesn't make sense.
If it's the matter of he just wants to leave and play for Golden State the best option for all parties would be accepting the player option and the Lakers trading him to Golden State for their second round picks, or one of them. Lakers get something back in return, and Golden State can absorb the trade with their trade exception from Iguodala and still have the tax payer MLE to use on another player instead of only minimum roster slots.
Of course it's possible the "wants to play for the Clippers" rumor is just bait to convince the Lakers to pay a bit more, but it's hard to see him just wanting to switch LA teams being so close to AD... I always assumed he would get paid, or return to Boston.Comment

This draft might very well end up being a deep quality draft, but the level of certainty and polished "sure thing" level players just isn't there.Comment

Re: 2020 Offseason Thread
Well looks like I could be right and Hayward could be coming to Atlanta. This makes a ton of sense as long as the core 6 guys aren’t involved and something like 6 and dedmom for 14 and 26 with him.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

I would say it’s very deep on PGs and bigs so I guess we will simply need to agree to disagree lol

Re: 2020 Offseason Thread
Trae, Collins, Capella the 3 established guys then the 3 young wings that have all showed flashes Reddish, Huerter and Hunter.
If we can get Hayward that’s cool I just want those 6 guys on the roster next year. Since Boston can give us 14 back.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

Why exactly does Atlanta need to give up #6 for a guy they can just take care of in free agency anyways? Seems like Hayward is only willing to opt in if he’s traded so the ball is basically in he and Atlanta’s court. If that’s where he wants to go and Atlanta wants him, they can just sign him outright or do and sign and trade and give Boston a trade exception and call it a day. Seems ludicrous to trade #6 to me
Edit: Also, this makes me think that Hayward is looking to push his deadline back because he has a different team in mind that can’t simply sign him.

Boston could want Dedmon and maybe we want to get off his salary so that’s one reason to trade for him. If he opts in then we don’t have to give him a longer term deal so that saves max cap space for next year.
Edit - Boston could also gain a a trade exceptionLast edited by georgiafan; 11-17-2020, 07:31 PM.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense
