    Re: NBA Draft 2021

Here is someone I wanted to talk about after he won SEC player of the tournament.

    JQ

I know a lot of people are hype he made this move to another team. But I can see they just kind of let him do anything. It's probably works great for what Bama is doing. But I guess for a future at the next level. He's going to need way more to his game. He would of got that at Nova to other levels of his game. But as you can tell. His game is all about isolation. That's not going to work at the next level. Or maybe it's not going to fly.

Even his pick and roll game seems limited.

Yes he he's doing great now. Leaving Nova only proves one thing to me. He didn't want to improve his overall game.

I was pretty high on him early on. Is he even a projected lotto anymore? Think he fell off after the early hype.

What are everyone's rankings for the SG class? This feels like the deepest SG class in eons but they're really tough to rank after Jalen Green.

                  Keon Johnson
                  Jaden Springer
                  Moses Moody
                  James Bouknight
                  Josh Christopher
                  Cam Thomas
                  BJ Boston

One of these guys is probably gonna hit and be pretty darn good. Who do you like the most out of this group?

The last 2 are at the bottom because I didn't see them. Obviously some of these guys are going to the G league. Or most likely return for a second year. Which won't be that bad IMO.

Edit: because I was feeling a little guilty about not seeing Moses Moody. When literally I watched him play yesterday [emoji23].

As an Arkansas guy, I don’t think Moody can play SG in the NBA.

He's a solid athlete, not phenomenal, but I don't know that he's necessarily too slow. Now that you ask though the idea of him staying in front of shifty guards defensively at the next level sounds laughable though..

But more so because despite his size and his solid outside shooting his game just isn't that of a guard, he plays almost like a modern power-forward but he's just way too small for that in the NBA.

He loves to start his attack from the outside rather than the mid-post but his entire offensive game resembles that of a Blake Griffin-ish type, maybe even Amar'e type of game. Not their back to the basket game but the face and go. He's not big and explosive like them though. He just plays like a big. Like he doesn't have go to moves, he doesn't break you down off the dribble. He leads with the shoulder, maybe does a spin, tries to tight rope the baseline, lot's of one or two dribbles and jump stop into the lane.

He has a really good outside shot, and if he's around his man that shooting touch is also really solid on midrange pull-ups and stuff too. Honestly if he was 6'9 or something he could probably be the best prospect in the draft as a stretch 4. He can even naturally hover around the post or mid-post hoping to catch dump passes like he's a center.

I just can't see him as a guard, it's not even clear to see him even as a SF but that's realistically what he will need to develop into to play for a team. But him at SF is Thad Young, TJ Warren at SF territory where both are better stretch 4's in terms of fit.. Moody just isn't big enough for that. The smaller the NBA goes the better of a player he can be. He could always add enough strength to be an undersized 4 like Dray, or get a bit more fluid and read angles well enough to be a SF too. But to me he feels in-between but at a guards size. Then again look at someone like PJ Tucker or Jared Dudley so who knows.

But his ability to shoot from everywhere is insane, that alone puts him at the back of the lottery at least for me. He has touch outside, inside, midrange, off the dribble, spot up, good balance and foot work, etc.. I think a team drafting best player available and not really worried about a position for him right away could take him in the top 10 even. It's just really hard to imagine the ideal fit for him position wise. If he was quicker and had more ball skills, or if he was bigger, idk. I just don't expect him to be a SG, I think mocks look at his shooting and his size and assume, that and I think Arkansas lists him as G too, but lots of times Arkansas will run a line-up where he's the biggest guy on the floor, or at least playing as the biggest guy. Joe Johnson was a little like that in his Arkansas days too, Joe was just much better with the ball, Moody's iso is a straight up PF iso lol.

Lengthy post but I think ultimately he could be used as a guy who gets guard-like shooting opportunities but ultimately plays more of a forward type position wise.. Lucky for him the league is a bit position-less right now. Somewhat like how Miami uses Duncan Robinson at times. He's just potentially going to be a much better all around player and athlete than him.
