Re: 2020-21 Transaction Thread
Hasn’t been talked about much but I really like the trade for Indiana. The more minutes Aaron Holiday gets the more it makes sense to have a guy like LeVert who can play the 2 or 3 rather than Brogdon, Dipo, Holiday who are all combo guard type of players.
Probably means less minutes for McDermott and Warren at the 3 where they are better suited defensively to guard the 4 spot. McDermott is finally playing pretty well, I wonder if this effects him as I could see his minutes taking a slight hit now.

Re: 2020-21 Transaction Thread
I’m less upset about it now than I was yesterday. I was all in on becoming the east coast version of Strength in Numbers. Sucks to lose Allen because he was on his way to becoming an elite rim protector and a dbl/dbl machine before turning 23. Still don’t understand why we had to move him but it makes sense as to why we didn’t lock him down before the season.
I know Harden can play so that I’m not worried about. It’s the off court **** I didn’t like, with the whole partying at the club maskless, showing up to camp overweight, disrespecting his teammates just to get his way. That stuff I’m not a fan of and I just hope he left that in Houston.
All in all, I’m anxious and excited to see how this looks. To see Marks go from taking over the “worst basketball situation in NBA History” 5 years ago to having 3 elite NBA talents on the same team on the Nets of all teams is very impressive. I just hope this all pays off in a championship, especially before Boston, lol.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2020-21 Transaction Thread
So looking back at the trade why did the Nets trade Allen again? Houston didn't need him to make the trade and I believe all they got from Cleveland was the Milwaukee pick? That's going to be a 25-30 pick and I find it hard to believe the Nets couldn't have gotten one of those without giving up Allen. Claxton or Perry/Chiozza and a couple of second rounders could have likely landed them an end of the round first to send to Houston without giving up a player like Allen. At the very least I would have pushed to take back JaVale from Cleveland to have a back-up big.
My only guess was them having to tie up so much money to match Allen as a RFA. Which is crazy because DeAndre Jordan is a shell of his former self and shouldn’t even be starting.
Good bigs don’t grow on trees. Still makes little sense to me.Comment

Re: 2020-21 Transaction Thread
I was reminded of the John Wall comments on Harden again reading Austin Rivers telling Knicks fans to be patient...we’re on our 3rd five year plan and you just got here. To you it’s jumping off the cliff after 9 games, for me it’s after 8 years.
I will say it’s interesting to go back and read the media reports on stuff like Harden preferring Wall when it doesn’t appear that was ever the case. Rockets said they were willing to let thing get uncomfortable, Harden said hold my beard.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

@ShamsCharania
The Raptors have waived center Alex Len.
@BobbyMarks42
Len had a guaranteed contract of $2.258M. The Raptors used their $9.25M midlevel exception on Len and Aron Baynes. Both players have been ineffective the season and saw their playing time reduced with the emergence of Chris Boucher.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

Any truth to this ? I dont see anyway they are able to make the math work for Love.
@JDumasReports
SOURCE: The Brooklyn Nets are in active discussions with the Cleveland Cavaliers to acquire JaVale McGee. Also have interest in Kevin LoveRetro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

Re: 2020-21 Transaction Thread
Yes to McGee and no to Love.
And I’m almost certain that leak came from Cleveland’s side. If there’s one thing about this organization that I’ve learned since Marks has been here, they do not leak.#RespectTheCultureComment

They can’t get him without moving one of the 3 and that’s not happening.
Edit: To add to this, this team needs defensive players/stoppers yet will add Love to help with that? Y’all see how much sense that makes? LolLast edited by ProfessaPackMan; 01-25-2021, 04:11 PM.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2020-21 Transaction Thread
I heard Bjelica is on the trade block. I would take him on the Sixers as a backup 4. I know he is shooting 23% from 3pt this year. But if you take out this year, he shot 40% last 3 year and a near career 39% 3pt shooter. I would be willing to move Scott and Furkan/Ferguson for Bjelica.Comment

Re: 2020-21 Transaction Thread
I feel like teams like the Nets, Lakers, Clippers, Bucks, Philly, etc won't be heavy players until teams start to waive/buy-out vets. This years buy-out market could be huge. Love, Blake, Drummond, Tucker, JJ, R Lopez, Baynes, Rose, Dieng, Aldridge, Ariza, Temple, JaVale, Dedmon, lots of viable options.
I don't think the Cavs would buy-out Love, or that Love would accept a buy-out, but it's not impossible. I more so could see them trading Love and a first round pick or something for some younger guys/expiring contracts. They will want cap space soon, and gladly take back younger options to grow with sexton. The team receiving Love might then buy-out, stretch, waive him just to get back the draft capital for a rebuild. So not impossible but also extremely unlikely.
Nets can technically trade for Love by trading Harris and Dinwiddie though. Not sure how that works with Dinwiddie being injured, and I don't think the Nets would do that regardless but it's not impossible. Also Harris can't be traded until March 3rd (I think)no idea when the deadline is this year.
I think it's far more likely the Cavs hang on to Love until someone wants to give up draft capital for him though.
I'm not sure I even buy the rumor that the Nets want Love, he's not what they are missing. However if the Nets were to be willing to send out Harris and Dinwiddie for Love I could see something like:
Pelicans get: First round pick (cavs), Dinwiddie, Harris
Cavs get: Redick (expiring), Ball (expiring), Josh Hart
Nets get: Kevin Love
Pelicans were rumored to want Dinwiddie already (he would have to accept his option or choose to re-sign) and Harris is a good 3 and D fit for them. Gets them closer to having guys who fit the direction they need to go. And they love stockpiling those picks.
Cavs would have well over 50 million in expiring contracts this year after this trade. Throw in another 12 if they can send off Prince for another expiring deal. Enough to re-sign Allen and throw max money elsewhere. Easily worth a 1st round pick IMO maybe even a 2nd on top of it, they should be fighting for the playoffs.
IMHO I don't think Dinwiddie is staying with the Nets anyways unless this injury really hurts his value. And he's not playing now regardless. So it's basically a Harris for Love swap, which I don't love, but it's also not a bad trade if Love really is a guy they want. They need defensive help also, but if the buy-out market lands them Tucker/Ariza, maybe JaVale/RLo, it could work.Comment

Re: 2020-21 Transaction Thread
Looks like the trade deadline is March 25th
I think cavs are more likely to trade Drummond then Love. I think the mavs could be a player for a big name they have James Johnson expiring contract and Kleber to get them to like 30 million. The star studded fa is about gone now so I’m not sure who they could realistically expect to land.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense
