2020-21 Transaction Thread
Glad Sixers didn't make the move. I was starting to accept the the deal mentally lol. I don't like the long term outlook for the Nets. They will have to hit on the 2nd round picks and potential swap picks. Harden and KD will be in mid 30s and I don't see him playing deep in 30s(probably won't be there anyway). I can see them ending up in same situation they just got out of fron the Boston trade
I think Sixers can still upgrade their backup 4 spot. Still like a guy like Saric.
I won’t lose any sleep over not hitting on 2nd rd picks since those are always low risk/low reward moves anyway. Best bet to hopefully catch the ring chaser stragglers in FAs and whatever flexibility they’ll have to create over the new few years.
Wish we could’ve got Tucker back in the deal.#RespectTheCultureComment

A championship is the only thing that makes this worth it. This is all about the next 2 years, just like it is with both LA teams.

Re: 2020-21 Transaction Thread
If the Cavs choose to waive Drummond or McGee the nets should hop on that. Although not sure if salaries would work with Andre.
This team is scary - defense will be a problem but they're gonna be a matchup nightmare for every single teamComment

The nets should go sign dedmon he would be a a huge addition as a backup C that can defend and rebound.

Re: 2020-21 Transaction Thread
They don’t really have an avenue to get him without trading KCP.
Kuzma, Caruso, McKinnie works but the Lakers don’t have the free cap space to bring back two more players in the deal with using the MLE to sign Harrell. Not to mention that’s just a horrible trade for them moving forward.
Don’t think PJ moves the needle for them at the expense of losing someone in the rotation. If they land him in the buyout market as an upgrade over Morris then sure that makes sense.
But it also still makes more sense to get a guy like Dedmon or JaVale. PJ is really somewhat of a mix between Kuzma and Morris. They don’t have a player like PJ in one single player but they can pretty much fit his same strengths with guys on the roster now.

I'am hoping the Lakers get him.
Good move by the nets imo. They had the pieces to make a move like that. Even Levert was probably a little to good to come off the bench. Can't wait to see what the Nets look like. That locker room could get interesting.Comment

Re: 2020-21 Transaction Thread
So looking back at the trade why did the Nets trade Allen again? Houston didn't need him to make the trade and I believe all they got from Cleveland was the Milwaukee pick? That's going to be a 25-30 pick and I find it hard to believe the Nets couldn't have gotten one of those without giving up Allen. Claxton or Perry/Chiozza and a couple of second rounders could have likely landed them an end of the round first to send to Houston without giving up a player like Allen. At the very least I would have pushed to take back JaVale from Cleveland to have a back-up big.Comment

Re: 2020-21 Transaction Thread
shocker here but the price of Harden was to high for the Celtics to pay

Yeah, I’m sorry. I thought passing on trades for Leonard, George, and Butler was the right call at the time. And you best believe I feel the exact same way about any trade for Harden that includes Brown.
Celtics never would have won a title with George, Butler, or Leonard. Failed to win one without those guys. All in all I’d say having Brown (24) and Tatum (22) worked out just fine, versus the kind of shape any of those rumors past deals would have left the team today.
