    I think it depends who the players are.

    In the Curry+Green trade you're getting into two starters plus a first territory for an old PG on an expiring deal.. Likely not worth it like you said.

    In the scenario I posted two of the players are to match the required salary to make the trade, they've only played in 12 and 9 games and would not be in the playoff rotation. So it's essentially Green, Scott, and probably a first for a guy you know is going to start and play 30+ minutes for you in the playoffs.

      I would think the trade value for Lowey would be around the same that Conley's was when Memphis traded for him. When you factor in his age and possible half year rental I don't think your going to get a lot of overpays. Especially since not many teams can match salaries.

        It's just a situation where some aren't going to give up anything of significance for a 35 year old who is on a expiring deal. Only the way it works for Philly is to give a those players if you're not giving up Tobias(which ain't happening). I'm not trying to give up a 1st round pick for him.

I think Philly would still need to be active in the buyout market after that, Otto Porter maybe? If you throw Thybulle and Poirier in that trade money works for a 3 team trade with Philly getting Lowry and Tucker... Bench would be a bit more depleted but the buyout market could be deeper for perimeter guys. Redick, Hill, Ariza, Ellington, etc.
        Even then, does that move the needle for Raptors? That's something where the best asset in the trade would be the draft pick. They would be just trying to get anything for him instead of losing him if they accept that deal.
        I don't see the young guys in Maxey, Joe, and Reed getting minutes in playoffs. Most likely Doc goes with a 8-9 man rotation in playoffs. I only see Dwight playing in certain series. So that leaves Milton and Tucker as the main 2 bench guys. Furkan is a liability in playoffs if he isn't knocking down shots and rookies aren't likely to get minutes. So, you'll likely need to get 2 buyout guys.

          Sounds like Aldridge is out in San Antonio. I hope he can make his way back to Portland at some point. Wonder if they are making a trade or a buyout.

            I think someone will trade for him even if the spurs don’t get much. I’m sure a playoff team like Dallas would rather have him then Drummond.

              Lowry apparently wants to retire a Raptor, BUT doesn't mean he'll stay beyond this year. So either he stays here forever, or signs a 1 day deal at end of his career.

              No matter what I dont think this will end with a surprise. If Lowry wants to be dealt, Raptors will deal him. If he wants to stay, they'll keep him. One won't happen without the other.

              But the 1 day contract stuff coming out now sounds like something to try and ease fans minds if/when the inevitable comes. He can't make those comments if he's on another team, so best to put it out there now.

                This would’ve been a better fit for us than I think Blake will be.

                But then I see Marc Stein is saying if Drummond hits FA, it’ll come down either the Nets or Lakers.

                  Assuming everyone is healthy I would think the Nets are the better title chance currently and can offer him more money. I read somewhere that though they are also looking to the buyout market that the Nets are also expected to be heavy in trade talks too.

                  I would assume that would mean they are listening to Dinwiddie offers. Whether anybody offers anything substantial for him knowing he can walk is another story. Would you move him for a guy like Redick? Obviously that would mean they are all in for a title push this season, but the Harden trade and Blake signing already jumpstarted that anyways.

                      Per Bobby marks

                      The Thunder now have the below big trade exceptions available:

                      $27.5M Adams)
                      $ 12.8M (Ariza)
                      $ 10.1M (Gallinari)
                      $7.37M (Oubre Jr.)

                      The original Gallinari $19.5M exception was used to acquire Meyers Leonard allowing OKC to create a new $12.8M TE.

                          The whole deal.

                          Sources: Houston is trading PJ Tucker, Rodions Kurucs and Bucks’ 2022 first-round pick back to Milwaukee for DJ Augustin, DJ Wilson and 2023 unprotected first-round pick. Houston also gets right to swap its 2021 second-round pick for Milwaukee's FRP pick unless it falls 1-9.

                            A little confusing to digest that trade. So basically Houston just punts on the 1st one year later and doesn’t add any draft picks ?

                              They get Milwaukee’s 1st this year and 2023 and return the 2022 pick. Basically kicking the can down the road another year since it looks like 2022 will be a late pick again and they get an additional 1st this year as well.

                              From the Bucks’ perspective, it makes them more switchable on defense and opens up both money and roster spots for the buyout market.
