I love it. The league desperately needed a shot in the arm given how blah this season has been so far. Drama, drama, drama.

@BobbyMarks42
With the trade, Houston will go under the luxury tax by $3.65M and hard cap by $9.95M.
Before the deal is consummated, Houston will need to waive a player (had 14 on the roster before the deal and now sending out 1 and taking back 3).Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

Re: 2020-21 Transaction Thread
They have enough talent that should be able to go on single runs that win them games with 4 guys like Kyrie, Harden, Harris, KD...
But they have far too many guys that don't play off ball and aren't exceptionally good at getting other players easy looks. The runs they have where say Kyrie and Harden are both in one of their streaky down slumps could be just as lethal in the opposite direction as their hot streaks.Comment

I don't understand why Houston picked up Oladipo over keeping LeVert.. Still scratching my head over that one. And if Oladipo is what they wanted why not trade Harden to Indiana for him and try to get back Turner, substantially better than Exum, Kurucs, etc.
I do wonder what this means for guys like PJ Tucker, JaVale McGee. Could be a good year for that buyout market.Comment

I can't find where I read it (I think it was in The Athletic and they edited the article without an editorial note), but it seems Houston didn't wanted Kyrie.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

Could it be something as simply as Oladipo being on a expiring contract ?I don't understand why Houston picked up Oladipo over keeping LeVert.. Still scratching my head over that one. Re: 2020-21 Transaction Thread
It could be that simple, but IMO that makes it even worse because if he bounces you basically traded Harden for a chunk of bottom 5 picks and a few swaps that you aren't ever going to actually swap.
MVP level trade value is Kurucs a wasted year of Oladipo and a handful of 25-30 picks? That's a joke lol.Comment

Could be that, isn't the constant drum beat that Tilman Fertitta is highly leveraged and could be in the verge of bankruptcy. Maybe trying to save a penny here, a penny there.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

For those interested:
James Harden might win a title with the Brooklyn Nets--and the value of that would be "priceless"--but his trade to New York will cost him as much as $13.6 million in new income taxes. @SportsTaxMan and I break down the numbers in a new @Sportico story: https://t.co/RDPgVuL9Yd********

Re: 2020-21 Transaction Thread
Glad Sixers didn't make the move. I was starting to accept the the deal mentally lol. I don't like the long term outlook for the Nets. They will have to hit on the 2nd round picks and potential swap picks. Harden and KD will be in mid 30s and I don't see him playing deep in 30s(probably won't be there anyway). I can see them ending up in same situation they just got out of fron the Boston trade
I think Sixers can still upgrade their backup 4 spot. Still like a guy like Saric.Comment
