You’re right, doesn’t happen often. I guess my thought was if he actually is unhappy does it make sense to trade him before you max him. I could see the benefit to both sides.

I don’t think they can trade him mid season just bc how the higher ups have been preaching they are trying to win now. Injuries have hurt so far so making another big move in this odd year I think is just to much to handle. I don’t think I first round picks are enough to move the needle in a trade during the year. If the season ends bad and it’s a sign and trade then maybe that’s different.

Rondo has been absolutely atrocious giving him a 2 year and 15 million deal should get our GM fired that’s how awful he has been. My only hope is somehow the clippers are tricked into trading for him.

Yea that is his total amount over 2 years all fully guaranteed. I can somewhat see signing him to a 1 year deal, but why in the world do you give him a 2nd year? Even if everything is clicking his limitations mean he can't be played with Trae.

I know playoff Rondo and all of that stuff, but with how he has played he shouldn't even be in the league that's how bad he has been. If I was a Nets fan like you I wouldn't even sign him if he gets bought out. I sure as heck don't want a "veteran leader" setting the example to my young guys how they don't need to even try in games.

It's all over Twitter that it's a 2nd a few years down the line but who knows if that's true.

I'm curious to see how this plays out. Is Payton moved (lol)? Does Rose take Rivers' minutes? Or is our organization really that stupid that we're going to move Quickley out of the rotation for a 32-year-old D-Rose as the backup PG?

I feel like it’s a good trade for Detroit. Dennis is still young and had plenty of good moments with Dallas. He could just never put it all tougher. I hope he can get some minutes and turn things around, worked for Josh Jackson, Christian Wood. Time will tell but he’ll never improve in the areas he needs improvement the most if he can’t get court time.

I have no idea why NY wants D Rose, other than Thibs obviously. If this cuts in to Quickleys PT then it’s just not a good trade for them.. as a scoring guard himself D Rose can definitely help Quickley become better, but you don’t want Thibs playing him in favor of his young assets IMO.

New York has plenty of time to make a couple more shuffles to the roster though, I expect we’ll see it soon.

DSJ has regressed since being traded to NY, but hopefully he'll get a chance to get his confidence off of the floor in Detroit. His jumper is very shaky and he just makes some baffling decisions on offense, however, he's become a pretty good on-ball defender with active hands and feet. I still hope he gets a chance to put it all together.

As far as Rose goes, I guess it's a function of Thibs wanting his vets. I hope Payton is on his way out.

I think another reason NY needs to win is to show FA they are headed in the right direction. The loss of the 2nd round pick won’t bother them they have the extra 1st from Dallas and still have a 2nd round.
