Re: WNBA/ G League Thread
Man it got stuck on my end during that timeout so I had to keep rewinding/FF it until it was good and had to hope I didn’t go to far [emoji23]
Jeebs, what you think of that last possession for the Liberty? Think it could’ve gone better than that?#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: WNBA/ G League Thread
I was talking to my wife about it. First I think the coach needs to call a timeout after the rebound. But after they brought the ball up and tried to score them called a timeout. It's rhythm killing. Second I'm on going to Stewie in that moment. She's your best player, she's the MVP. Even if she's 0-20. You got to live with that. But finally they got the look. They got a double team. Got the rotation. Missed the shot. You can't ask for much more.Last edited by jeebs9; 10-18-2023, 11:54 PM.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: WNBA/ G League Thread
It's kind of why you have to tip your hat to the Aces. That's not one of VANDERSLOOT strengths. Definitely not a spot shooter. So the Aces did their homework. She's does more play making and distributing. I'm also just going to guess that Candace Parker might have let that be known (within the team). She won a championship with her 2 years ago in Chicago (played with her for like 3-4 years)Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

We’ve watched over thousand Basketball games in our entire lives…it’s not that wild at all lol. If it’s wild, it’s because of what was at stake.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: WNBA/ G League Thread
Looks like we might get a WNBA team in Toronto after all.
After MLSE (company who owns Raptors/905) balked after not seeing a WNBA team as worth their while or money, Larry Tannenbaum (one of the top guys in MLSE whose company also owns part of MLSE) has his company going out to propose a bid for a WNBA team.
All the city needed was an ownership group and the WNBA were gonna award them a team, it was supposed to happen last year. With this news, I could see things really picking up. Wonder if that group goes all in and buys the women's hockey team too which has been a big success and just really starts pushing women's pro sports as the interest is clearly there from within the city.
The venue options will be interesting. If not owned by the Raptors ownership group, they probably won't play there (not that they'd fill that arena anyways), but could easily see them playing in the minor hockey arena (which has also been a proposed location for the Women's hockey team as it seats 9000 people) or the 905 G League arena outside the city which would attract a more family oriented/lower budget crowd and a lot more schools/camp groups going to it.Comment
