I'd like to see Laimbeer get a chance. I remember he had a lot of success in the WNBA and was really ticked off that no NBA teams would even listen to an interview.NFL: Bills
NBA: Bucks
MLB: Cubs
NCAA: Syracuse
Soccer: USMNT/DC United

I wouldn't mind Laimbeer getting a chance either, but then again I wouldn't be totally averse to Zeke getting a shot either so as you can see, my memories of the Bad Boys is clouding my thought process.PS: You guys are great.

I have mixed feelings on the Pistons draft. I understand why the players we got were chosen, but I can't help but to believe that things are so incomplete and unbalanced with this roster that it's premature to comment on it until free agency period resumes and more transactions are made. Simply put, some players on this roster must be moved this offseason as soon as CBA is agreed upon in order for me to completely be on board with these picks.

Re: ***Official Detroit Pistons Thread***
So would this be our team next year (?):
C: Greg Monroe
PF: Charlie Villanueva
SF: Austin Daye
SG: Rodney Stuckey
PG: Brandon Knight
Bench-
Ben Gordon
Jonas Jerebko
Will Bynum
Kyle Singler
Vernon Macklin
I guess this assumes we find a buyer for Rip and Maxiell and then Wallace retires.Comment

Re: ***Official Detroit Pistons Thread***
If I had my way, we'd ship Prince, Hamilton, and Stuckey out of town for a ham sandwich. We aren't close to another title, and they can't help us in our current state. And our roster, at present, is pretty much one big work-in-progress. This whole mess has the stink of the early-to-mid 1990's Pistons wasteland when we rotated coaches between Ron Rothstein, Doug Collins, Don Chaney, Alvin Gentry, George Irvine....and our roster featured such NBA luminaries as Orlando Woolridge, Olden Polynice, David Wood, Brian Williams - scratch that, Bison Dele...dark days.
I like Brandon Knight - I stated about 2 pages back that I wouldn't mind drafting a real PG, and I think he can fit that role. I don't think we'll get so lucky as to get another Wall or Rose, but I think the teams that took flyers on the international big men may end up regretting that in a few years...I was surprised he was still there at #8 (as was he, apparently...not a good way to start by looking pissed to get drafted by us), but this could work out for us.
I like Vernon Macklin - tough banger in the low post, I think he can definitely make the roster - he fits with who the 'Stones are.
Don't get me started on Singler...I hope I'm wrong, and I admit I'm blinded by Duke hate, but I think that guy brings nothing to the table and can't see him being a legitimate NBA player. I'd be really surprised if he found a spot on our roster, but we'll see....
As far as the coaching situation...are they really honestly consider f'n Kelvin Sampson? Why??? That one makes no sense. Lawrence Frank - meh...Woodson would be fine; good Larry Brown acolyte, which is always a good pedigree. Jeff Van Gundy I'd be fine with, but then they definitely have to rid themselves of the troublemakers in the house if they wanna hire him. I really like Laimbeer - he takes no sh*t, obviously knows the game, is a fierce competitor, and has had some success as a head coach (albeit in the WNBA, so who knows how that translates...although Paul Westhead was a pretty good coach in both leagues). He seems like he should get a shot. Lacking a big "get" out there at head coach, might as well give a good young prospect a shot - worked out well before with Rick Carlisle. Man, I wish he were still our coach...Comment

Lawrence Frank was introduced at a press conference earlier this afternoon at The Palace. A video of the press conference is posted at The Detroit News.
