    Re: ***Official Detroit Pistons Thread***

I don't know what to say. When I was watching him play, he missed shots again and again and again until he didn't play much. His D was also HORRIBLE. I guess He's better now, or I just picked the wrong 15 games to watch.

Anyway, I hope for a rebuild or whatever you want to call it. Get this team back on track. We need some guys to play D, get the boards and score. I had high expectations for Monroe, I hope he'll be better, we need a solid big man.

Also, whenever I was watching, Gordon was the best player on the team, but he's still coming off the bench. I LOVE Rip, I'm just not sure he's the same player he used to be. I'm having a hard time letting Rip and/or Prince go - they're both my favorite players on this team. But It's probably a good time to change and get rid of one of them at least.

Stuckey is the future, but we need more.

Gordon starts now, Rip has done pretty well off the bench but I'm waiting for BG to have that "explosion" game, he's had big spurts but I haven't really seen him put together a great 4 quarters, it might be because of the way the minutes are allotted though.

As far as Daye goes, it's not like I'm expecting him to become a superstar, I just feel he's developed very well so far and we can look forward to him as our starting SF in the long run once Prince moves on. Joe D can then look at our other positions to draft or sign FAs, which is really want I meant by "build around".

With Stuckey, I'm not as high on. I like him and want to bring him back but I actually think his best role is as the 6th man who can come in and just score. His best move is to basically sprint at the rim and hope for a foul or nice finesse layup. Being within the gameflow from the start isn't as important as it would be for a mid range/perimeter shooter. Although, to be honest his shot as been better lately, so maybe he'll prove me wrong.

I gotta watch more Piston games these days. Seems like things have changed since I watched it. Gordon starting at SG? We definitely need points - and he's the man for the job.

How has Charlie-V been doing? I see that he scores 13 ppg with 5 boards. but only 25.8 mpg? And it's not like Maxiell plays much more than he used to.

Charlie V has been playing super sharp every time I've seen him in. I watch about 1 or 2 games a week.

Kuester has been switching up the lineup a lot. If you're don't already, I'd suggest following the Piston Powered and Need4Sheed blogs... they're great.

The Pistons need to somehow get rid of our overabundance of guards yet find a true pg. They seem to have alot of slasher but no floor leader

So, there's some talking about a trade...I forgot the details, but I do remember it includes trading Rip. Any news?

I'm not sure if he's the ideal PG, but the ever since Billups left, I have been thinking that Andre Miller would fit. Thoughts...?

I think the talk is that we'd be involved as a 3rd team in the Carmelo trade to the Nets. We'd be sending to Rip to NJ for Troy Murphy but I also believe we'd have to eat J Petro's contract. Terrico White has also been mentioned as being traded. I hope the trade doesn't go down, I'd prefer Det & NJ just swap Rip for Murphy straight up.

edit: It might DaJuan Summers instead of Terrico White, which would be even worse

How about T-Mac tonight? 22 points - including 2 dunks! Isn't it more than he scored the entire last season? I guess it's more of the horrible Raptors than the greatness of T-Mac these days, but I'll take it!

And you're right, I don't like this 3-team trade either.

You know I don't think Miller is a game changer but he is a steady reliable veteran that could manage the game for us. I don't know how well he'd fit with Stuckey though they both handle the ball alot. Im holding out hope for Kyrie Irving lol

Id trade Rip for Murphy and Petro. They r still saving money. Rip is 12 million useless dollars. He deserves better for what he did for Detroit then to sit on the bench.

If Rip is leaving, we need to get a solid PG and move Stuckey to the SG (he can still play PG every now and then). Stuckey or Gordon starting at the SG...hmmm...maybe Stuckey would fit better since he can guard taller SG's.

I will miss Rip Hamilton, one of my favorite players ever. We had a great run!

Id probably start McGrady at the point he seems to execute the offense most effectivly of all the guys who have started there this year.

How good has Stuckey looked playing shooting guard this week? Offensively, the only thing he is good at doing is getting the basket, he's nearly unstoppable. At the 2, that's the only thing he has to worry about doing. Him Playing off the ball makes the team much better.

And its still gonna take him awhile to really feel comfortable at the 2 since for the last 3 yrs they've been forcing the pg duties on him so now its like everything the coaches have been trying to get him to do as a point guard they need him to forget lol.
