These guys are done, they will NOT make the playoffs, Curry will be fired after the Cavs game.

Sort of. The chemistry was definitely messed up with the AI trade, but Curry is a joke. Not to toot my own horn, but I saw this coming, it was plain as day. They hired a player's coach. The prissy prima donnas that put on the Pistons jerseys every night hated Flop and wanted Michael Curry to replace him.

            Think about that.

They flourished under Brown because he commanded their respect. He tore them down when they made mistakes, made it personal, connected with them so they made it feel like they were letting down a father figure if they screwed up. They respected Larry Brown and would've gone to war for him. With Flop and Curry, there's no respect, there's no sense of failure if they let the coach down anymore. Once Brown left, the players had a sense of entitlement. They thought they were better than they were, so they tuned out the coach.

Shouldn't be a surprise when morons like Rasheediot are still around.

Hopefully they bottom out and miss the playoffs so they can get a lottery pick and let Rasheediot and AI leave so their contracts come off the books. For all the praise Dumars gets for his building of the team, he needs to start catching some heat for bungling the 03 draft, his failure to get rid of the cancer Rasheediot after last season, and his last two coaching hires, which have set this franchise back god knows how much.

Either way, they're done. Just a bunch of over-inflated egos thinking they're better than they are playing for a coach who has no business being a head coach in the league.

I think Dumars has overrated Stuckey. Maybe he saw a little too much of himself in Rodney (small college, combo guard). He also undervalued Billups' importance to the team.

Watching that game on Sunday was just sad. I could be wrong, but it looked to me that the team has all but quit on Curry. Rasheed looked like a zombie out there...his emotion (when under control) added so much to that group in their heyday.

I like Stuckey. He'll be a beast sooner than later.

If they got rid of Sheed last year who would have taken his place??? I like the AI trade but they are just flat out not playing, I do like the $35 million off the books this season along with Stuckey Prince and Hamilton as your core plus a decent draft this year too with 2 first rounders.

                    Re: ***Official Detroit Pistons Thread***

                    simple solution for the Pistons:

start Stuckey, Rip, Tayshaun, McDie & Sheed & bring a rotation of A.I., Maxiell, Affallo & whatever other big is producing the best DEFENSIVELY of the bench. follow this and revive your season!

                    A.I.
A.I. HAS to come off the bench for this current roster to be most effective... A.I. will bring versatility off the bench kuz he can play either PG or SG, he definitely brings scoring, leadership & change of pace off of the bench. he should still get 30 to 35 mpg and clutch minutes but he just shouldn't start IMO (because of the team make-up & what would condusive to the Piston's winning)

                    Richard Hamilton
definitely should NOT be coming off of the bench in this situation. he is not a streak shooter but he IS a pure shooter/rhythm shooter that uses picks and movement and the flow of the game to get his points. asking him to come off the bench as the main option and to create shots is NOT his game and benefits noone. he is being a GREAT teammate to accept this especially after all he has done for this team.

                    Stuckey
let me first start by saying that i am not one of the "Stuckey is the second coming of D-Wade" guys BUT i will say that he has a lot of upside that surley needs to be developed as a starter, running a team. Teh Piston's are obviously rebuilding on the go & A.I. running the PG position for the Piston's was clearly not working to well.

for the record i love A.I. & he should start on any OTHER team but his pride & attitude definitely come into question on this one for me as well as the whole "practice" fiasco a few years back.

In such circumstances they should really entertain the option of AI coming of the bench, but it won't happen, because there have already been a lot of lineup changes which have contributed to the team losing any identity.

Rip Hamilton regains starting role with Pistons

                            Iverson will come off bench

By VINCE ELLIS • FREE PRESS SPORTS WRITER • February 27, 2009
ORLANDO — Allen Iverson will miss tonight 's game with a back injury, but when he returns to the Pistons, he will be coming off the bench.

Pistons coach Michael Curry announced this morning that Rip Hamilton will be back in the starting lineup, playing alongside Rodney Stuckey, in an effort to jumpstart a team in the midst of an eight-game losing streak.

“It’s nothing on Allen,” Curry said. “He’s just a guy that needs the basketball and because of it that, it reduced the time Stuckey had the ball in his hands.”

Hamilton has been critical of late about Curry’s decision to make him the team’s sixth man. The Pistons have gone 4-12 since he was benched.

“Something’s got to give,” Hamilton said after Wednesday night’s loss to New Orleans. “I’m all for doing whatever it takes for the team, but coming off the bench with us not winning, something’s got to change.”

Iverson left that game with a stiff back. He is flying back to Detroit today to have further tests on this back.

When Iverson comes back it should be him & Rip starting. It's funny that few see that one of the real problems has just been that Stuckey is getting burnt out and hasn't ever done 82 games at 30+mpg.

Man, AI is in pain right now..for him coming of the bench is like being disrespected..I don't know

Isn't it crazy that his style of play that gave Philly a finals appearance is so highly criticized now. But, on the other hand it's understandable, because he's on the Pistons.
