The brought back Will Bynum (2 years 5.75 M total) and Sheed as a coach. They also signed Gigi Datome from the Italian League. I still think they are not done yet.

What's the story on this Italian guy? I've never heard of him, and worried he'll just be the SF Kravstov.

I read he was MVP of the Italian league, is that a strong league?

Love Drummond. He will end up as the second best player in that draft class, behind Anthony Davis when all is said and done.
The summer league doesn't mean **** though.

Kim English got released. Back down to 16 players.

Independent from that move, Detroit needs to move Stuckey's expiring and bring in a shooter to backup/start at SG. Maybe Stuckey for Courtney Lee? Perhaps keeping Charlie V wouldn't be the worst thing since we could use a stretch 4 off the bench especially if we plan to play Smith at the 3 a lot.

This more or less conforms to my view of all the dealing/roster-changing going on with the team of late...although I'm far less down on Monroe and Knight than the writer:

I'm surprised there is someone in a national media outlet paying this much attention to the 'Stones, frankly...I was under the impression there were about 20 people that cared about this team, and 5-6 of them are posting in this thread.

The Pistons tried to get Rondo for Brandon Knight and an expiring contract. I think Rondo would be a good fit, if they packaged, say Knight and Monroe plus a first round pick down the line.

To me, that's too much to give up for Rondo. I think Knight, Monroe, and Drummond are 3 of the pillars to build around (although admittedly that opinion is looking shakier with each passing year...). It's not like we're 1-2 guys away from a title; there's gonna be pain no matter what we do for at least the next 2-3 seasons. Unless you can circumvent the normal progression timelines, a-la the Miami Heat, I don't see a need to short-circuit what is a planned 4-5 year re-build early to just chase mediocrity early.

Pistons never seem to utilize the D-League, I think Mitchell makes it easily. Siva on the other hand, might be odd man out. It's gonna depend on any more moves Dumars makes to clear up some of the clogged roster. Way too many average guys vying for minutes right now

I think Siva ends up playing overseas. Even though I hate Louisville, he seems like a great guy though so I hope he does find his way on a NBA roster.
