I like how we have a lot of different guys that can get hot on any night so we don't really need to rely on a specific #1, plus when the shots aren't falling Drummond is there. Gotta get better at FTs though, almost let it slip away last night

Yeah, the team isn't even shooting well at all and they are still beating good teams. Once they can get it figured out and the schemes/plays get more familiar, I think the team could get to be scary. This could be a Golden State type situation in another 2 years or so if they continue to get better.

What about when Jennings comes back? Going back to what redsrule was referring to, before he got hurt last year we were absolutely en fuego. I like where this thing is headed either way.

I'm starting to come around, Drum is becoming an absolute monster, and my overreaction for the night: Reggie is underpaid

Whoa, whoa, whoa.....I think that's the overreaction for the YEAR right there.

KCP has really looked like a completely different player this year (so far). What finally switched on for him?

I hate to say it, and I was the #1 proponent of him since the day we drafted him, but the team might be much better off without Greg Monroe. It's not a slight against him in any way, but he just didn't fit what Stan Van is trying to do here. And it may just be timing/coincidence, but Drummond is absolutely blossoming without Moose taking up paint at the same time.

Stealth awesome acquisition of the year: Ilyasova. He just fits the system like a glove.

I asked a question on the latest Detroit Bad Boys podcast about G Monroe, and the answer was pretty good - basically the same thread you're following there

Not just you...and provided he keeps this level up, I'll have to eat crow re: my criticism of over-paying for him:

Reggie Jackson, who came to the Pistons after a trade with the Thunder last season, has assumed a leadership mantle.

And more voices to the chorus:

Bonus item: the guy we traded for Jackson (Kyle Singler) ended up on the "worst deals" list. Not that any of this means anything - it's just one writer's opinion - but it does feel good to finally be on the plus-side of a transaction(!).

I wonder why they gave Singler 5 years, he wasn't even that good after the trade last year, guy has 63 points and 46 fouls this year

No idea...and he also had enough of a body of work in Detroit to know what he was and wasn't capable of producing.

Anyway, I'm just happy not to have to root for a Dukie anymore. It's just a bonus that Jackson is working out so well thus far....

The big ben retirement game was insane - Curry had 38 points and we won by 18.

I'll be at the game this afternoon with my son. Super super excited

Awesome man, hope you had fun. I'm just pumped that there's some excitement around the 'Stones again. When it's rockin', the Palace can be one of the best places in the league to play. If you give people any reason at all to root for the team, metro-Detroit is a great basketball area. Will be nice to showcase that once again after somewhat of a lost decade.

This is getting to be a pivotal juncture for the 'Stones...the season could go either way from this point on. We've been getting blown-out in games (before coming back late and narrowing the final score), and losing a lot more than winning lately. With KCP out for who knows how long, this thing could get away from us if we're not careful. I know Stan Van is building something for the long-term and this team is young, but it would suck if we weren't able to continue the momentum we started with this year and at least get into the playoffs in the East. The next month is going to tell the story, I think....

It's been a weird season overall, we've beaten Golden State, Cleveland, Atlanta, Houston x2, Bulls x2, Heat x2, and seemed to have the Grizz beat before whatever the hell happened with Barnes' "buzzer beater". But also lost to the Bucks, Nets, Wiz, Lakers, Hornets, Pelicans, Knicks, Nuggets, and close games with the Sixers.

I mean, are we the only team to beat GSW and lose to the Lakers? It feels like every time I look at the schedule I feel like our odds are better against the better teams, it's weird. And like you said, this could get really interesting with KCP out and Meeks still out, probably gonna see a lot of Reggie and Jennings playing together unless Stan suddenly gets confidence in Hilliard or Bullock. Gonna be interesting to see how this goes
