Unfortunately you are right Kruza. 7 game NBA playoff series are long, so at times maybe fans like myself and the media panic. Regardless, they just don't have the aggressive jump right on them from the start nature. That mentality gets dangerous in the playoffs as we have seen. Watching the first half yesterday made me think of the Cleveland series. They did play hard in the first half, but nothing went their way, and they continued to make careless turnovers which is so against what they are. I was seriously concerned that they had lost confidence.

Flip was right in that they just needed to relax and get into their sets and play basketball. They were tight, and when that happens the offense has no rhythm and movement which results in mistakes. When they relax and move the ball the shots are there.

Besides some careless TO's Tay has been amazing on both ends of the floor. Props to Dyess man for gutting it out yesterday. I think the guys played off of his heart yesterday. They better not think Game 5 will be a gimmie. They are at home, and they need to continue to run their sets and execute in the half court to keep Philly from running.

One major concern has been the bench. It has been garbage. Stuckey is in his bad form right now. Jarvis shouldn't even dress the way he is playing. He looks lost and outmatched on the court. I don't get why Afflalo doesnt get some time or even take Jarvis's minutes. That's my one complaint with Flip right now.

Game 5 at home, they should get the time. Now when they get the time, they have to produce. I am hoping they can build an early lead so that he can play Amir, Aaron, etc in the second quarter with the normal second unit rotation.

Re: ***Official Detroit Pistons 2007-08 Thread***

I'm pretty nervous. Thinking about this team as though it's three, four or five years ago is a mistake. The '04 title is already four years off; the uprising that brought this team back to the front of the line is even further off.

No, they're not "too old," but I don't think there's much debate concerning this year being their last chance to make a real push at another title. And assuming this is true, it's hard to think that a team making "one last push" could possibly fall behind to a team like Philly.

I'm not saying they're going to lose the series, but something tells me a title is already out of the question. A team that is going to go on and win the NBA championship doesn't fall behind 2-1 in the first round to a sub-.500 team.

Where the hell is Ratliff and Amir? Theo is old, but he still brings defensive presence and hustle. There's no excuse for Amir not to be seeing time.

I'll be at the game tomorrow night, so I hope last night's second half signals the capturing of momentum by the Pistons and they stomp Philly into the ground. If they find a way to blow Game 5, I suspect they'll bow out in Game 6, at which point Joe D should seriously consider blowing this thing up and do whatever is necessary to bring Elton Brand to Detroit next season.

                    Nice article.

No lie, I didn't watch them play anymore after the first half of game four. As a matter of fact, the games I watched, Detroit lost, or were losing. Game 2 I believe was broadcast on NBA TV so I couldn't see it, and after that first half of game 4 I just said screw, I'll check the box score in a couple of hours. I am gonna watch game 1 on Saturday though, just to see how it goes.

I think Jordan needed those years of frustration. If it hadn't happened, he might not win all those championships. As a Pistons fan, I'm happy that the Pistons were so dominant during those years. As a Jordan fan, I'm happy the man proved every1 that he's capable of winning championships. Anyway, he had the last laugh. He's the man!

And guess who has interest in Flip, Paxson. Any rumors about Flip being outed?
IMO he's gone if they don't get to the finals. Maybe a game 7 in the conference finals will save him. Maybe.

                          AP

Notes:@ With his 11th point, Hamilton broke Isiah Thomas' career playoff scoring record of 2,261 points and he did it in 110 games — one fewer than Thomas needed to set the mark. "That's a great honor because Isiah is Detroit basketball," Hamilton said. "To pass one of his records is crazy because I haven't been here that long." ... Hamilton is four games away from breaking Bill Laimbeer's franchise record of 113 playoff appearances. ... Stuckey, drafted by Detroit with a pick acquired from Orlando for Darko Milicic, was named to the All-Rookie second team. ... Saunders said McDyess was told as he was arriving at the arena that his grandmother, who helped raise him, had died.
Didn't know that McDyess was playing with a heavy heart, he really stepped up lastnight. Condolences to his family.

Pretty amazing that Rip has already surpassed Isaiah's career playoff scoring mark. True testament to how successful the Pistons have been under Joe Dumars.

Very glad something good came out of the Darko fiasco, I can see Stuckey producing for a long time to come. He gets a little out of control sometimes but at least he's been doing well in not turning the ball over, and I love his energy.

It wasn't pretty, but the guys closed it out. Love what Stuck is doing, he will be a stud once he figures it all out. Dyess man was awesome and Tay has been awesome all playoff. Good team effort, and now the resting period starts.
