And I'm going to disagree with both of you.

The Knicks need a Joakim Noah. To me, if Joakim was on THIS Knicks team, we'd be looking at the ECFs.

The Knicks are gonna score. STAT is gonna score. He doesn't need to score 30 a night.

Right now the Knicks offensive numbers are way over-inflated (see D'Amnphhony).

STAT around 24 PPG is enough because if we had a rebounder in there like Noah, they wouldn't need to score 110 PPG.

We'd be getting defensive stops...consistently.

I think the Knicks need a Noah-type player and a perimeter defender (ala Trevor Ariza).

Then we can talk.

Melo adds scoring punch and is a closer...which is always good.

But we need that paint locked down IMO.

I know bro. What sucks is that i was hoping that A. Randolph could've been that type of player for us. I have yet to even see the dude play. SMH

You know how deep D'Anfoni's dog house is. We won't be seeing AR for a long time, which is a shame. Is he THAT bad in practice?

Spent way too much, but shelled it out for the game tonight. So pumped.

I've been to Knicks games in Jersey, and to UConn games at MSG, but its my first Knicks game at the Garden.

Ah, I won't argue this. I was mostly commenting on the offensive side of the ball. It seemed people were concerned with the bench scoring and STAT having a big man to help him deal with the offensive load.

CMH my Big-Man comment in reference to STAT was more around:

Defense
Rebounding
Playing 20-25 minutes every night. Keep STAT fresh.

What I posted is what Mosgov was supposed to do. He's basically out of the rotation. AR can't crack the rotation so he's out. That leaves Turiaf. Who with his bad knee gives about 20 mins & that's it.

STAT cannot as well as Ray-Ray keep playing 40+ minutes a game for the rest of the year. They will be fried come April-May when we'll need them @ their best.

Tonight was a bad night. Shots just weren't falling. Couldn't even hit free throws. They can make up for it by beating Cleveland tomorrow.

Ugly game. Combination of two tough games earlier in the week, a hot Miami team and us having an off night.

Tonight was the first time Amare looked fatigued and forced things. The man has been carrying the team like crazy for nearly two months, it's amazing it took him this long to have a "bad" game of 24 & 14.

The offense looked really stagnant. Miami did a great job obviously but we did a ton of standing around. Not sure if Mike game planned to iso Amare heavily to exploit Miami's front line or what but it was an ugly effort in terms of cohesiveness, off ball movement, etc.

Tonight will feed the Melo fires, everyone saying we should wait to acquire him got a taste of what reality is going to be this season. Amare will wear down eventually and lately Turiaf has been a non-factor because of injuries. So Amare's stuck at the five and has to carry the load offensively still. When he has an off night we have no chance of beating a decent team.

Also, for the rapidly growing "we can't trade Fields" contingent, in these last two games against the Eastern conference powers he played 69 minutes and had 11 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. I know he's a rook but is he really someone we won't trade for Melo?

Nah, you move him if you can get a quality player in return. I like Fields. Hustle player. But, hustle players have a lot of downs statistically.

And he just looked overwhelmed these past two games.

We have a athletic big-man who can score, rebound & block shots his name is Anthony Randolph. Why Pringles doesn't give him the light of day is beyond me. I understand the kid sometimes has had brain farts on the court when he was in the rotation, but the kid needs to be in there.

I completely agree with you there. I wish he would play AR.

He was an exciting acquisition that is just wasting away on the bench.
