Toney Douglas had surgery on his right (shooting) shoulder. Expected recovery time is 3-4 months.

This may explain extending Billups one more year and seeking a PG in the upcoming draft.

Also 'may' explain some of his poor play against the Celtics as the story says he reaggravated the shoulder injury after Billups went down.

It did look like he was trying to avoid having that shoulder make contact with Rondo too.

        LOL.not nice

Douglas is a baller. He had a great rookie year but still needs to work on his shot selection and decision making. Clearly D'Antoni got in his head.

I like Simmons' break down on the level of cockiness.

Tony Douglas was one of the levels. The guy that shouldn't be that good, but somehow every couple games just lights it up from outside. The problem is when you need to rely on that guy for more than those couple games and you don't know when to avoid him when he's off.

I do like Douglas. I like his mentality. I think he can grow. Whereas Nate was never going to mature, Douglas can and has shown it. He was much better at shot selection in the second half of the season. Obviously, he needs to mature even more, but I'm confident he can because he's shown progress.

            Thoughts on the draft?

I think the Knicks should go for Kenneth Faried from Morehead State. He doesn't have the greatest size or frame but he'll be a great roleplayer for what they need (rebounding, defense). He should definitely be available at 17.

If we were higher, I'd go for Bismack.

I'm sick of the PG talk and even more sick of the Jimmer Fredette talk. Neither would help the Knicks IMO.

Markieff Morris is who I want. If he's available @ 17. If not it looks like Jimmer will be the pick.

It's not D'Antoni running the show so I don't see how the Knicks brass would select an undersized, one-dimensional player in Fredette.

The Knicks recent draft history says otherwise.

The post says the Knicks are targeting

                    Iman Shumpert

                    Reggie Jackson

                    or

                    Charles Jenkins

@ 6'2 Fredette is far from an undersized PG. Yes he has a scorer's mentality, but would average 6 assist in pringles system. Not to mention the dude can shoot & has a high B-Ball IQ. My hope is we just fill a need & not just draft6 the best available player

But a(nother) scoring PG is far from our needs. Plus his shot selection is disgusting and it D'Antoni ain't the guy to tell him not to shoot those. And he doesn't play a lick of defense. IMO there isn't a lot of value after the top 10 picks or so, though there will likely be some decent bargains late in the 1st or in the 2nd.

I wouldn't be opposed to trying to trade for a 1st rounder next year. I think next years class is going to be one of the best we've had and probably the best since 03.

If we draft Faried he won't see the floor until Pringles is fired. No way he'll play a guy with Faried's skill set.
