So we're now 27-35 and we still have a 1 game lead over Charlotte for the 8th spot. I want to make the Playoffs, but damn, I don't want to make it because the rest of the teams suck. I at least want some satisfaction that we deserve to be in the Playoffs. Hopefully we can turn it around and get at least close to .500.

Im the same way, Id prefer to be over or at .500 and be in the playoffs. Not sure how itll play out though, we need to finish at the very least 14-6 in these last 20 to get to .500, not sure how realistic that is though.Comment

Re: Official Indiana Pacers Thread
Looking at the schedule a 14-6 record looks like it could be attainable but, I think that would be the best they could do looking at the final 20 games and I'm not expecting 14-6 from here on out.
I don't mind if the Pacers make the Playoffs with a under .500 record if they are playing basketball deserving of the Playoffs. I just don't want the Pacers to make the Playoffs losing like 5 of their last 6 games and still getting in because everyone below them were terrible as well.Comment

Re: Official Indiana Pacers Thread
Just looked at the remaining schedule too, I wouldn't bank on 14-6 but it's possible. I wouldn't mind going say 39-43 and making it. Just as long as we're not like 36-46. lol. You have to consider the coaching change(the fact that O'Brien put us in a 10 game under .500 hole to start Vogel's tenure).
EDIT: Also I think we have to win these next 3 games starting tonight. Philly, Minny, and Toronto. We follow that up with the Knicks twice, Celtics, and Bulls.Last edited by z Revis; 03-08-2011, 04:31 PM.Indianapolis Colts

I'm sure you guys will get in. Bobcats have thrown in the towel this season. With Wallace they had a slim chance, now after trading him there is no chance.Comment

Re: Official Indiana Pacers Thread
It seems like every since the trade talks with McRoberts and Rush leaving has affected the team chemistry. I told my wife when i heard about it might happen then falling thru that this was not good for the team. I don't know why the Pacers even were intrigue by this, the team was improving and playing hard there was no need in trade talks this season. They should have waited till the off season and looked at improving. I like what McRoberts brings, and Rush has his moments, he just needs to be more consistent. IMO thay need to somehow dump Solomon Jones, TJ Ford and let Dunleavy go as well. I like Dunleavy but he cant guard a water bucket.
This team needs a bigger and stronger point guard to mix things up with Collisson's speed. Hopefully Lance can be that player but needs to develop.
I also think they need to have more of a offensive flow like they did when Reggie was playing. You just can't pick n roll all game long. There to stagnant at times on offense especially in the 4th Qtr when it matters most.
I am done venting,I am just extremely pissed at how this team is performing and everyone is to blame for this debacle thats going on, players, management, and coaching staff are all to blame. You could even throw in the fans for not coming out to show support to this team, to many bandwagon fans that only show up when things are good, that BS IMO.Comment

Re: Official Indiana Pacers Thread
I was afraid this would happen. You see it a lot. Teams fire new coaches mid season and the new guy lights a fire under the team and sort of rejuvenates them, but it doesn't last long. That seems to have happened here. I think we were playing with amazing energy and pure will for the first 10 games or so under Vogel. I think the All Star break put that fire out if you will. Now we're back to our old ways and we're back to the exact same point we were when O'Brien was fired; 10 games under .500. I hope they realize the Playoffs are still very well in reach and they turn it around, but it doesn't look promising and honestly a sub .500 team shouldn't make the Playoffs, let alone an under 10 game one. I'd almost be embarrassed if we make it. We'd be the laughing stock of the Playoffs and I wouldn't be surprised at all if the league looks into changing the rules of the Post Season so teams like us don't get in anymore(sort of like the NFL reviewing their rules because of the Seahawks). Then again, the Seahawks did upset the Saints. I wouldn't mind being laughed at if we have Seahawk-like success in April. lolIndianapolis Colts

Re: Official Indiana Pacers Thread
LOL, I will take a Seahawk like upset wouldn't that be something. The way were playing right now we might just play are way right out of the playoffs. Tyler seems to be the only one thats interested in winning at the moment. I think this organization really should look into the off season of trading anyone except Tyler. I would even consider moving Granger at this point, he has not prove to be a leader or a number 1 option. I am a big Granger fan but gut he can't lead this team. I not so sure anymore that he can even be a Scottie Pippen on a team more like a 3rd option instead.
I'm not sure it's time to rebuild again though. I think what I said before stands. We have a great team for a superstar. Think how much better we'd be if a Carmelo joined this team. A lot of great support players here. Problem is I have no idea how we're going to manage to get a superstar. No one wants to go to Indy. Maybe it is time to rebuild again LOL.Indianapolis Colts

Re: Official Indiana Pacers Thread
Something is wrong in the Locker room.
And what im seeing in Granger's Body Language isnt good. He can still play and is still a Pippen but he's really just going thru the motions in that last game. He's not attacking the basket at all. Just shooting threes. No step in mid range and no post up.
The team looks like the team that played the evening that O'Brian got ejected.
Reports of team dissention are over the webs.
I a big Granger fan but im coming to grips that despite being the "leader" of this team, he's not qualified to right the ship and keep the kids in line.
Handsbrough has been the only constant during this slump.
Apparently Stevenson is immature. And there is no one who can "mentor" him, since everybody is still young besides Foster & Posey.Comment
