Not a knock but that doesn't make any sense to me at all.

Yet he was an asset and Phil got played for getting nothing when he traded him...

It was the only way to get rid of Smith. Shumpert wasn't going to be re-signed. For Cleveland to take smith's contract they had to get something to make it worthwhile. Phil wasn't giving up tim hardaway. He's younger and cost effective.

It was the right move. Shumpert had to be the piece.

I know that CMH. My sarcasm was about fans claiming we gave Shumpert away for nothing. That he was an asset that should have netted us some kind of a pick in return.

Oops. I definitely missed the sarcasm. It's been a long week.

Well when you see a guy like Mozgov cost 2 first rounders and a guy like Prigs pull in two 2nd-rounders, you feel like Shump should net something in return.

Should have taken that OKC pick last year.

Looking at the standings, it's basically a 3-way deadheat between NY, Philly and Minny.

Philly has a west coast trip coming up.

Those teams must really, really stink because I'm not sure how you match the garbage lineups we're putting on the floor.

Minny has Wiggins, Bennett, Rubio. We'd kill for that

More games to play but I always felt Minny was the team to get the first pick.

I don't mind if we're second. But I'd be pissed if we were third. I want nothing to do with Mudiay.

I think Philly would go with Mudiay.

Would Phil take Mudiay over Towns? I don't see Mudiay being top 3, thats between Okafor/Towns/Russell. I'd be more wary about getting the 4th, then might have to reach for Myles Turner.

I hope Phil takes Towns. He currently has 6 blocks against Florida.

And Philly has Noel and had Carter - Williams and Wroten playing everyday.

I know there's some ugly about MCW but the Knicks don't have three guys matching what those teams threw out there.

We are supposed to be this bad. I really hope it ends up working out.

This exploring to trade their first rounders rights is such madness if true.

This is the problem with bringing Melo back. I like Melo. I think people blame him for the wrong reasons. But his signing made this team consider trying to win for him, rather than trying to make the Knicks good for a long time.

If this is what Phil and Melo talked about in free agency, I'm worried.

I don't think the story is true.

Phil should be fired on the spot if he ever suggested that.

And yes, the Melo deal will haunt us. Wrong side of 30, max deal, no trade clause.

If we were going to tank for the draft, we should've just S&T'd him for young players and picks or at worst let him walk.

                                I doubt it's true, I wouldn't worry about it.

Sure, we're open to trading the pick. If OKC calls and offers Durant for it, we'll be open.
