Re: The 2015 New York Knicks: Year 1 of Life "After" Dolan
As for the current state of this sad-sack, dysfunctional franchise, I've already accepted the fact that the Knicks will never, EVER be a legit, perennial contender with this idiot owner. Eventually Phil will tire of the MSG circus, you-know-who takes over, and the Knicks go back to being a laughingstock. Bad owners kill franchises.
Why can't Dolan leave the Knicks alone like he does the Rangers?Comment

My old man graduated from HS in Nassau County in '70. He's a Jets, Knicks and Mets fan. What stretch for him, he said it was surreal. He probably thought he'd see plenty more success and titles from those teams during his life. Not so much!
When I was a kid he always talked about those 70s Knicks teams, moreso than the Jets or Mets championship teams."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: The 2015 New York Knicks: Year 1 of Life "After" Dolan
I can't be excited about Mudiay because he's such an unknown. I hate risking a high pick on a guy like that, it's such a crapshoot. I feel like he'll be nothing more than an average point guard but we have all of a dozen games in friggin China to judge him on.
The problem is every other team in the NBA knows that after #3 the talent level drops. There won't be nearly as high a demand for the 4th pick. It'll be interesting to see how Phil & Co handle this. We only had a 39% chance of landing one of the two bigs so it was far more likely than not that we didn't get one them. I'm guessing Plan B is to trade the pick but I really don't think we'll be able to get something valuable enough in return to make a trade."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Isn't the knock on Mudiay his shooting? Doesn't seem like a great fit for the triangle.

I knew this would happen when these bum *** losers started winning games right at the end, just to screw over any chances of landing a legit player. WTF."I'm addicted to Video Games, and i chase it with a little OS." -Winston ChurchillComment

Glad I missed the fireworks.
Shout out to Tim Hardaway Jr and Langston Galloway who thought they had something to prove at the end of the season and the staff for not even pulling the plug much earlier.
I expect Phil to walk away sometime next season.
As long as Dolan is at the helm, we'll never have any success.Comment

Consensus on who we should take if we keep #4?
I mean, you have to take Mudiay.
I'm not a huge fan but believe he has upside.
It's just the Triangle and our stubbornness.
I can easily see them trading down simply to draft a player who "fits" the system.Comment

Re: The 2015 New York Knicks: Year 1 of Life "After" Dolan
Mudiay or whoever's left of the top 4 prospects.
We really can't afford to keep blowing these draft opportunities. I don't know how many times we'll have a top 5 pick because we love to trade them or compete just enough to be the best worst team in the league.
I will say that with the triangle, it should theoretically work no matter the personnel. It's just happenstance that Phil had the two greatest SGs in NBA history running it, but he was able to go from guys like Luc Longley and Bill Wennington to Shaq. It provides enough opportunities and options for anyone to be successful in it with the proper adjustments.
Unfortunately, our coach is Derek Fisher and I have no confidence in him evolving the triangle.
