Re: The 2015 New York Knicks: Year 1 of Life "After" Dolan
I think I'm actually joining you despite my post from like three hours ago.
Might as well take a versatile defensive center who can anchor our defense for the next decade. I've knocked him for a long time but I'm now starting to wonder why he's 10th or 11th in so many mocks. I mean, why the hell would you ever take Devin Booker over him?
He's part DeAndre Jordan, part Tyson Chandler plus his jumper is already solid. He should turn into a better offensive player than either of those two in addition to catching lobs at the rim.
So there we go lol, I'm in for WCS at #4. I think he makes the most sense, Phil wants...
A defensive big man
A mature kid (WCS has matured a lot in his three years at UK)
Can contribute right away
A safe pick unlike guys like Porzingis and Mudiay
Man, quite a 180 after me being so anti-WCS for the whole season.Comment

Not sure, trading down could be messy because in hindsight I think a lot of the mocks this year are going to be off since many have WCS going in the 9-13 range, I don't think there's any chance he lasts that long. Are you really going to take Stanley Johnson or Devin Booker over WCS?
SAC probably isn't a threat to draft him at #6 but besides that nothing would surprise me. Not even Orlando at #5 with Vucevic on the roster."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: The 2015 New York Knicks: Year 1 of Life "After" Dolan
This is my Knicks big board at 4:
1.) D'Angelo Russell - I feel he's the most ready for the league, love his personality and swagger.
2.) Emmanuel Mudiay - Like his size, athleticism. Seems more developed at this point at the PG position that some of the guys he's been compared to. Questionable J though.
3.) Justise Winslow - Seems one of the few players that has a high floor. Could see him being a 3 and D guy worst case scenario.
4.) Kristaps Porzingis - Dice roll but like his size, length, and skillset.
5.) Willie Trillie - I'm just not convinced he'll be so far above and beyond any of the current one-dimensional role playing big men. And I'm not convinced their won't be another guy in his mold in the upcoming drafts.
273.) Frank Kaminsky - I don't believe the hype one bit.
But I'm sure Phil's board is the reverse of that.
I actually had a dream about Emmanuel Mudiay the other night, odd. But his stock rose because of it.[NYK|DAL|VT]

Sam Smith getting our hopes up saying one rumored offer from Denver is a pick swap plus us getting Jusuf Nurkic. I think we would do that immediately and take whoever is available at #7. Sounds like Denver wants the #4 pick to add to their offer for Boogie.
It opens up a lot of opportunities, fills one of our many gaping holes (center) and still gives us a Top 7 pick. There should be a handful of bigs at spot such as Lyles and Kaminsky which would allows to avoid Monroe in free agency and pursue someone like Wes or Monta (not great, but I'd probably take either of them over Monroe). Or we can take a guy like Hezonja and still pursue Monroe."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: The 2015 New York Knicks: Year 1 of Life "After" Dolan
This is my final Wishlist and I'm sticking to it
(Okafor is my #1 and Russell is my #2, but I'll assume that they're gone):
1- Emmanuel Mudiay
2- Trade #4 to Phoenix for Eric Bledsoe, #13 and whatever throw-ins to make it work. Draft Bobby Portis at #13.
3- WCS
I don't want any parts of the following guys:
-Porzingis
-Lyles
-Kaminsky
I don't think the PHX deal has much legs but if it does, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I think Portis is going to be a stud. Just have that feeling about him.
I like WCS but I don't think he's worthy of the #4 pick.
And about that Denver deal, I have no clue who Nurkic is therefore I don't want him. We have no PF and Monroe (although I want us to get him) isn't a tough player. WCS would add some toughness alongside Monroe.Comment

The Knicks 2015-16 season officially begins tonight at 7pm. Now we find out how much of a genius Phil Jackson is. So far he's been nothing but a pompous windbag. Better hit a home run Phil, because you are on the clock! Quit running your mouth about LeBron James and the three-point shot - just fix this sorry-a** franchise.Comment

I have a feeling he will make his selection. Fans will boo. And we won't know for sure the effect of that pick until a couple seasons later."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Personally I think Phil has the FO pretty tight-lipped, I don't think anyone outside of the organization knows their plan. Alan Hahn swears Mudiay is the pick, Chris Herring swears it'll be anyone but Mudiay. Others swear it'll be Kristaps.

Re: The 2015 New York Knicks: Year 1 of Life "After" Dolan
I think Mudiay will be the pick. I read that the Knicks will have to make a selection regardless due to the rules, even if they have a deal in place to move it. Mudiay is the most attractive at that position and I think he's the player the other teams that want our pick are coveting. So it wouldn't surprise me to see Mudiay picked at 4 and PJax to watch to see how the other picks fall, then pull the trigger on a move if whichever player he wants is still on the board. I'm just hoping some other team reaches in the process to grab one of the guys Phil wants.
Sidenote, Phil said he wants to acquire a 2nd round pick. Is there anybody you guys like in the 2nd round?[NYK|DAL|VT]

Rakeem Christmas
I think Cliff Alexander will fall out of the 1st round. He was a beast in high school. Seems like he's a kid that can get overweight and lazy though. But I would take a flier on him. He was projected like a Top 3 pick before having a rough go at Kansas.Comment
