Phil is too busy denouncing Thibs coaching. Saying he trusts the Paxons and crap. Knew this would happen when we hired him. Nothing but his guys for coaches.

Y'all think Dolan would actually step in with a better candidate?

I have more faith in Phil than I do Dolan. I'd rather die with Phil hiring guys to be extensions of himself than Dolan go back to hiring guys that are extensions of himself.

It basically doesn't matter though. Ultimately Phil will be gone in a couple of years or shorter and then there will be another new plan

Maybe Phil is interested in Thibs but not showing his hand yet. Also, Ewing said he's interested.

I'll just continue to play 2k to witness a Knicks championship.

Re: The 2016 New York Knicks: Now that we're done tanking...

Here's the issues with Dolan intervening in my mind:

1.) He undermines Phil Jackson. Phil Jackson took the job with the condition that he has full control. He's obviously trying to build a team around his philosophy, that being the triangle offense. If Dolan intervenes, we end up with clashing visions of success and ultimately nowhere, except the lottery again.

2.) Phil won't be here forever but Dolan undermining Phil also sends a message to all potential candidates that it's Jim's way or the highway. This would make the Knicks an unattractive candidate for probably all levels of management, from GM to Head Coach.

3.) No guarantee he wouldn't do something like pull a coach out of the college ranks, someone with no experience, or someone who's already washed up.

I just hope that Phil still considers other candidates, even if he's leaning toward Rambis.

That's all I ask for. Don't limit yourself to your coaching tree

If Dolan steps in on this decision then I imagine Phil will leave. He supposedly has full control, if Dolan renegs on that then I don't know why Phil would stick around.

Yeah if Dolan chooses the coach, he would give $50 mm to Isiah Thomas and act like it's what fans have wanted.

Yea, that's a possibility. Definitely not trying to say anything positive about Dolan. Just think Phil's run here has been mixed so far, I've supported him, but if he just extends Rambis then that just shows all he cares about is keeping the triangle in the league, not winning. At some point the standard here has to be more than just "well at least he's not Isiah"

That said, hopefully this is just noise, Phil hasn't come out and said anything that would make it seem Rambis will get the job. And most of the stuff Phil has done here hasn't leaked. But it is concerning its coming from more reliable people now.
