What's the story with the Lakers' FO anyway? I haven't followed it closely outside of knowing that Jim Buss is doing his best Dolan impersonation since his father passed away.

    Is Kupchak's job in jeopardy?

Would Phil 1) even have a job offer 2) have full control?

Jim Buss will step down if the Lakers still aren't good by next season, and I know at least Steven A said Jeanie is considering cleaning house sooner.

I don't care about the Lakers one way or another, but the fact that removing names this situation is basically "Prodigal son removed from family business by sister so that she can give her boyfriend control" is not an NBA story, it's a Game of Thrones plotline

          My prediction: 32-50

          No 1st rounder next year.
          From October 2015.

Just gut feelings man. The talent clearly wasn't there in spite of the hope of wanting a good season.

Maybe I'm just a beaten-down Knicks fan, but it's hard to be optimistic, especially with Phil sticking to his guns about the triangle. He can't sell Kurt Rambis to the fanbase.

Im just sick of the bull****. If Phil is leaving, then ****ing leave and hopefully we can get a GM in here that we think can do a good job. If he's not leaving, then he can't seriously believe Rambis is the best option. I don't know enough about strategy to love or hate the triangle, but we need to have an actual coach to run it if this is what he insists on installing, and Rambis isn't ****ing it.

I stay with my prediction. He will be gone in 1 to 2 years. Shorter if he doesn't get his way with having a puppet coach.

If you believe what the Daily News writes, Melo wants Thibs to coach.

I don't know if I believe those sources but if it's true, does this not confirm how close Melo was to signing in Chicago?

I don't think it really confirms anything, but im sure people will try to do whatever they can do connect those dots and make it seem like Melo wants to leave.

I listened to Phil's jive yesterday.....seems like he's blaming everyone but himself for this joke of a franchise. I suppose it's the media's fault LaMarcus Aldridge wanted no part of playing center in the triangle.

Melo pretty much confirmed it himself when he reupped.

"It came down to Chicago and New York,'' Anthony said during the program.

"It was a perfect setup and perfect fit for me in Chicago. But also I had to think about just living in Chicago. Do I want to live in Chicago? Do I want to take everything I created in New York and move all of that? It came down to that. But there was one point in time I was like, ‘Oh, I'm going.''

To me the one thing it confirms is how big Thibs being head coach was part of his attraction to Chicago. He's played under him for Team USA so he's already familiar with him.

I haven't read Phil's entire transcript yesterday but I heard that he called out the media for being overly negative and said that's part of the reason why the franchise struggles to attract FA's.

Also heard he ripped the media for misjudging Grant, saying he wasn't playing well enough to deserve more PT until the final weeks of the season.

The fact that he reaffirmed his commitment to the Triangle is most alarming. Rambis is definitely going to be the coach next year.
