I agree, I bought DOA4 cuz OS guys was sayin that was the game to get but after playing a buttonmasher, I gave up on DOA.

Last FN was great but after you learned how to haymaker on command, it became easy and boring, even on its hardest level. I agree with the reviewers point about having money and not being able to spend it on nothing. I guess thats why I liked DJFFNY, Jordans, Chains, gear, combos, styles and atmosphere (not in that order).

This game is a must buy for those who play against friends or online (cheezers will come out).

What does this really matter to the game? You aren't going to face a lightweight if you are a heavyweight in career mode and vice versa. If what the review said is true, then it's my belief that it is done intentionally to give a player access to all fighters for online play on XBL. That way you aren't limited in the number of fighters you can pick, which to me, may burn you out on the game rather quickly.

If you can beat Ali with a lightweight, it must be too easy to begin with.

It isn't that he beat Ali (so he says), he TKO'ed him.

Yeah, but IGN whores itself out for EA. So you can expect lower scores for 2kSports titles consistently. I've learned the system, I add .5 for all IGN 2KSports game reviews and subtract 1 from all EASports titles. It's politics, IGN is giving Fight Night a horrible review if you read through it closely, but they give the game a good score because of politics. I'll wait for Gamespot's review, their reviews and scores seem a lot more unbiased and truthful.

For what it's work, GI gave this game great scores. 9.0, 9.5. They did say however that the career mode was a little lacking.

Thats what you get with haymakers and stun punches and so on. Play the game without using those like me and i can guarentee the game will be hella fun. I don't even know how to use haymakers and so on which is a good thing.

I really have to wonder how much this new stun punch plays into the whole Ali-Pacman uproar. It seems like that punch completely ignores chin & power ratings so that would make it entirely possible for a featherweight to knockout a heavyweight. Not that he should be able to, just coming up with a possible explanation for it.

The Ali-Pacman fight must have been in some Slugfest mode, which is more arcade than sim.

Re: FIGHT NIGHT ROUND 3 IGN REVIEW IS UP!!!!!

"Slugfest mode", alright. As in "IGN editors just wailing away at Ali with a featherweight for 'testing purposes' and such". IGN is good for reviews of the newest Zelda or Silent Hill, but have been pretty spotty with their sports reviews.

Not saying it isn't possible in the game, but I probably wouldn't have noticed that you can do that because..I'm not going to match up a Heavyweight and a featherweight. I doubt the AI is going to be haymaker and stun punch crazy, so as long as YOU or the people you play online aren't..it becomes an increasingly small factor.

As usual, IGN gives us in-depth analysis of the graphics, and one paragraph about the difference in boxing styles. Oh, wait..they dissected the game's AI by brilliantly pitting Pacquiao against Ali. Brilliant!

When I played the demo, the game wasn't overly easy. They have more time trying to break the weight class system than trying to put a well though out review.

Don't know what your criteria for "overly easy" (we talking about EGGS?)is CM, but I found the demo to be "just plain easy". I'm not concerned about the one player game anyway. I met one guy online whose into FightNight, but could care less about his ratings. I'll probably have several battles with him.

P.S. Dundee wouldn't allow Ali to come out for the 11th round. It was rightfully counted as a TKO loss but he wasn't actually KO'd or forced to stop by the official.

I still feel like DJFFNY was the best fighting game of this generation (at least on Xbox).

That review really sounds disturbing. I hope the AI issues (being easy) is limited to only the 360.

true..But when fights are stopped inbetwen rounds it's scored as a TKO..Ali was never KO'ed & only knocked down 4 times in his career..Henry cooper. JoeFraizer.Sonny Banks. Chuck Wepner (more of a slip though)
