I understand that. But what Im saying is, using the stick does is not gonna make me change my strategy at all, its just gonna cramp my fingers up. I love boxing and always like to jab, bob and weave, basically I play as sim as the game allows me to. This just adds an element of frustration.

I know the game is pretty much made and ill have to adjust, but if enough people complain, I think we may get a patch or some kind of change from EA. There wont be another new FN for a couple of years so I'd hate to get stuck with this configuration.

Yes I agree, as I said earlier its like TPC is being described as a Band Aid to broken gameplay....and to some(judging by this thread a lot people) they don't want to have to go through some frustrating learning period just because the frustrating part might deter some non sim fighters.

If they tuned the game right, it shouldn't matter which control scheme is being used.

Also it'd be nice if they just took out all this drama and just included the buttons and had two separate lobbies online one for TPC and one for buttons.........whats so horrible about that

So whats your overall review of FNR4 since you've obviously played it.

You really just dont get it. How is moving your right thumb anything like throwing a real punch?? We're not talking bout the Wii version here. Quit making it seem like sim players ONLY use the sticks. IF you have some information on how the sticks are incredibly different from the buttons, then I can understand your anger, but if not then just chill out. By just making the button less responsive, you have the problem solved. I just like to know exactly what I'm throwing in the ring, because in real life if my mind tell me to throw a right uppercut Im not gonna end up throwing a left jab.

I do agree the buttons are easier to play with, i mean you press the button punch comes out. But its old fashioned, when your flicking that stick up it emulates flicking that jab in the ring. Its much more satisfying than just pressing a button. Darxide was complaining he couldnt pull of moves he wanted to, but he just started playing the game. If i go to the driving range and never hit a golf ball in my life, should i expect to be tiger woods the first time i pick up a club??

If i was the producer of this game i wouldn't take the buttons out only because you can't satisfy everyone. People are gonna complain. Thats why i gotta take my hat off to these guys they're taking a big risk. I believe they're making this decision because they're altering the control scheme in a way that using buttons just wouldn't be the same.

what is this band-aid your talking about?? The game has been made while being very aware of our list of improvements that needed to be made. Especially the stamina of the boxers.

Then why does it matter if the buttons are used if the game is tuned right with the appropriate punch animation for varying levels of fatigue????

People like Shadio make it out to be something to keep you from performing at your Boxers maximum.(And Shadio freaking chill out) Theres nothing sim about making it harder to throw a punch combo through a control scheme. If you want to make it harder to throw extensive combos, do it through slower punch animations because of fatigue

The sim stuff should come through knowing your fighters stamina and style and setting up strategies that take advantage of those vs your opponent. Your main worry in the ring should be your opponent. I don't want to have to worry about controls that have glitches in them that may slow my reactions down.

Very few games(If any) have done the Sticks right without having some crappy glitch in them...even NHL 09 as great as it is, has its flaws. I just don't know why you would want to create this type of controversy. Both Button Configs should be in there for the people who want to play the game the way they want...and have online lobbies for both.

I'm a button and stick guy. Meaning on the previous fight nights I would use the buttons for jabs and crosses and the stick for uppercuts and hooks. So in my view it takes some sort of "skill" to throw the left uppercut with the stick followed by the right cross with the button. But I don't fear change so I'm not complaining about no buttons. So I guess I sucked it up...NO HOMO!!!

Actually you can. NHL 09 just released a patch with a diff control scheme. And I said maybe. Why do people act like they work for game developing teams??

they are not trying to make the game more difficult or make it more difficult to throw combos. They're trying to innovate by trying something new that hasn't been done before. The face buttons probably have other functions. Don't claim that the sky has fallen just yet my friends, lets wait till a little more info is released before we do that... or actually get to play it first.
