    Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread

Well, they were for GOAT, but my 100 power in both hands wasn't enough to plow some total cans with 60-70 chin. I'd pop them and they'd get up about 4-5 times. Screw that. On top of that their flash knockdowns and stuns with my chin at 85 and their power at 60-70 is ridiculous, especially with my toughness at 75+. NO, I am changing because I just want a more equitable game as far as power goes. Champion allows me to dominate the ones that should be dominated without complete ease. I can beat the CPU on GOAT with sliders maxed out, have done it in Fight Now countless times, but it just isn't sim enough. On Amateur my punches make their meter disappears, jut like the CPU does to me on GOAT. It's like NCAA 10 on Heisman, lol. I would up the power on GOAT, but the CPU just causes more flash KO's and knockdowns from lucky punks and scrubs. I can get that playing online if that's what I want.

For fight night round five offensive and defensive AI need to be added as well as offensive and defensive styles. I will agree that no two fights are the same on this game, but on GOAT it has gotten close. Champion allows me to move in for the kill against a hapless and helpless opponent without getting killed and countered constantly. I am switching back to Champion for the realism. Here are my Champion sliders:

    Ref sliders both 10
    Power 7
    Speed zero
    Damage 7
    Toughness 5
    Accuracy zero
    Stamina 8
    Cntr wndw 0
    CPU AI both 10
    Output 0

I have hit guys with shots that should have made it look like knockout kings 2000 while on champion. That first knockdown in the intro is what I mean.

    That brings back memories, lol.

My next fight with my new sliders is against my Librado Andrade CAB who is 84 OVR against my 83 OVR fighter. I have 91 power in both hands and an 85 chin and he has 86 and 84 power with a granite chin and high toughness (95+ each). Should be a good test of the sliders. Anything could happen. I could come down to my edge in cuts/swelling as Andrade is a bleeder.

        Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread

Hmmm I liked Parkers pre-patch Champion sliders - I found them a bit difficult to get KO`s early in legacy though so upped the power a little. Post patch I had to adjust the default Punch acc/ CW/Stamina sliders down.

I was really enkoying these in Legacy but found them a little easy in Fight Now - I was throwing and landing a lot more punches than the CPU wheras it was a lot more equal in legacy mode.

I really enjoy Shauns GOAT sliders too and found the balance for KO`s quite nice in Fight Now - once your opponent is stunned you have to be careful when moving in for the KO or you will get countered and taken down yourself - a nice balance. The stats are right on in Fight Now too - 40-50% landed and very even numbers for punches thrown.

However, early in legacy I`m finding it hard to KO the CPU - perhaps as it should be but presumably their chin/stamina etc is lower too. I will have to try Shaun`s Champion sliders.

        Cheers

          acts238shaun,

with all due respect, i don't understand why you're raising stamina rather than lowering it, when it's generally understood that fighters have too much stamina in the game, allowing you to throw way more punches than in real life and not have to pay for it.

mostly everyone is bringing stamina down to 0 yet you're RAISING it? I don't understand.

I've played several games now with stamina at 0 and 3 and having it at zero is ABSOLUTELY too low. By the end of the 5th or 6th round, the CPU is out of gas. Not me, the computer.

Benicio, you sir make a very good point! I throw about 50 punches a round and on GOAT I was dead by round five with stamina at seven. I will probably make a change for Champion. As far as other people's sliders only Juke has a stamina slider listed up front. I have no clue about the others, but I'll take your word for it. Do remember I play 3 minute rounds. I probably will make it lower though. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

                Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread

Just had my best fight ever, it was a draw. I've never had one before. I had to wear him down because he was absolutely relentless and played to his boxing style. He pressured me throughout the fight looking for openings and stayed after me, cutting me off and herding me into the corner several times.

Andrade scored a flash knockdown in the fourth on a lucky haymaker where he was finishing a combo. I was tossing a straight to counter him and missed because he ducked so low throwing that huge HM uppercut his knuckles were dragging the ground on the follow through, lol.

I scored a flash knockdown off of a counter in the 8th. The video is below. I had to post it because it was probably one of the most satisfying knockdowns I have ever had and one of the most vicious because of the way his head turned. It looked like a real knockout, so great job EA devs!

Judge 1 had it 95-93 for me while the other two had it even. The only round they disagreed on was the 3rd. Judge 1 gave it to me and the other two to Andrade. Interestingly enough, judges two and three had rounds 1-5 going to him and 6-10 going to me. Talk about a comeback. I nearly had him down a couple more times at the end, but to no avail. I love this game and this slider set.

As far as stamina, I tossed 529 punches and was gassed at the end of the fight. This was at seven and three minute rounds. I am keeping it at eight on stamina because I shouldn't have been that tired with a 100 stamina rating. Here's that vid:

Yeah, Champion is where it's at for Legacy. I accidentally moved it to GOAT before a fight and was flashed all over the place by a very old and busted Chad Dawson. Champion for me with max ai sliders.

FYI for Benicio or anybody else that's questioning the Stamina slider:

The default setting for Stamina is EIGHT, not 5 like everything else. So setting it to 5 is actually MINUS 3 from how the game played prior to having the slider. (Boxer Accuracy default is 10 and Counter Punch window is 7.)

Shaun's stamina slider at 8 is essentially having the game work the way it did before the slider was added.

Guys, I'm REALLY loving the boxer accuracy slider.

It creates a dependency on combos, much like real boxing. Good punches don't come in 1's and 2's, they come in 3's and 4's. When he blocks a jab and you land a right hook on it's heels, it feels so satisfying.

And it actually does damage. Punches seem to have more of a cumulative effect.

This looks as much like REAL boxing as I've ever seen.

Well, I've gone all the way back to my 2nd set of Champion sliders and tweaked them to my liking.

I've had some really good fights so far. I just knocked Eddie Chambers down in the 4th with Mike Tyson and he didn't even ATTEMPT to get up - yeah, you read that right. No stumbling, no bumbling, no falling down. He laid there face down and took the 10 count.

Here they are if anybody is interested.

                              Code:
                              Difficulty - Champion
                              RFA - 10
                              RDA - 10
                              PWR - 7
                              SPD - 3
                              DAM - 10
                              TGH - 5
                              ACC - 0
                              STA - 3

                              CDA - 10
                              OUT - 0

FYI for Benicio or anybody else that's questioning the Stamina slider:

The default setting for Stamina is EIGHT, not 5 like everything else. So setting it to 5 is actually MINUS 3 from how the game played prior to having the slider. (Boxer Accuracy default is 10 and Counter Punch window is 7.)

Shaun's stamina slider at 8 is essentially having the game work the way it did before the slider was added.
oh ok ... im on ps3 so havent had the patch...
