They are part of a DLC package that you can get free from the FN store.

      Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread

The more I play, the more I notice that the Punch Accuracy slider effects the player MUCH more than the CPU.

I've played 10 test fights now, 5 with accuracy at zero and 5 with accuracy at default. It definitely lowers connect percentages. But overall, I'm seeing a split that doesn't effect the CPU nearly as much.

Reducing the slider to zero reduces my connect percentages anywhere from 7-12%. It only reduces the CPU connect percentages 2-5%.

      This is on Champion.

I had to start a new legacy to see the new sliders. Maybe I missed something and that wasn't necessary, but just wanted to give you a heads up in case that is your issue.

OK, I figured a few things out, but it required me to completely start from scratch. I just lost a split decision to Eddie Chambers with Mike Tyson - 93-96 / 92-97 / 96-93. He knocked me down once in the 10th but otherwise each of us was only stunned a couple of times.

So now I need to go back and add the knockout power back in but I got the percentages and stamina where I want them.

I got the punch output set to zero on Champion, and the AI comes out swinging a lot more often than I'd like. The AI will frequently throw upwards of 70 punches against me, in every round. The CPU controlled boxer will be completely exhausted, and STILL keep punching away.

That makes fights all too easy. I just have to let the AI tire itself out, maintain an average of 40-50 punches per round, and keep working the body until the later rounds, when I begin throwing more punches and going for the KO.

I also hate how the judges favor wild brawling over smart boxing. I can never win them over, because they award every round to whoever punches the most. I have to always try and win by KO, because it seems the judges hate actual boxing.

Hey Parker, I tried your latest posted set. I think you're really dialing these in pretty nicely, IMHO. The only things I had to tweak were the cpu off and def awareness (again, a reflection of my skills) down to 5. But this is great stuff. I even had a flash KD in the 1st round of one of my matches. I never had that before. Let us know if you make any further revisions.

By the way, just for clarification: the cpu offensive awareness--is that a measure of how aware the cpu is offensively, i.e., knowing what strategic punches to take against me, or is that its awareness of what I may attempt to try to do offensively to it? I've always assumed it was the former, but asking just in case.

The most noticable effect the awareness sliders have is in regards to aggressiveness. If you raise offensive awareness without raising defensive awareness, the CPU will punch away wildly. If you lower offensive awareness and raise defensive awareness, the CPU will wait for counter opportunities.

I've found that it's just certain fighters that do this, regardless of where the output slider is. Awareness also effects the number of punches thrown.

                        Slider update

I have two sets, one for those who find Champion too easy and one for those who don't. Champion is more realistic because the CPU's punches and my punches do the same damage, all things being equal. On GOAT it seems you can hit a scrub with your best shot and it not faze them at times. The CPU has the advantage, even if you are all 90's and the CPU boxer is all 70's. I got tired of stun's by the CPU when I could do the same thing and they wouldn't even step back.

I've been asked about stamina and by rounds 9 and 10 I am often exausted, even at my lower punches per round, so I am ok with them at 8.

Ok, here are my latest sets for Champion and GOAT. Both I will appreciate any feedback. Unless listed, setting is for both difficulties. Enjoy!

                        Ref sliders - both 10
                        Power 7
                        Speed 0
                        Damage 7
                        Toughness 5
                        Stamina 8 (I play3 minute rounds)
                        Acc 0
                        Counter Window 0
CPU Off AI 5 (may go to 6 on Champion)
                        Def AI 7 GOAT 5
                        Output 0

Here's a nice KO of David Haye on my champ sliders. I have more one and dones on these than I have had on GOAT.

This is why I play on Champion. Even with both CPU awareness sliders at 10, you CAN be aggressive and not get punished for it all the time. I found GOAT to be far too dependent on counter punching, making every fight exactly the same. Mike Tyson isn't a counter puncher and on Champion, he can fight that way.

Exactly, and you can have a 100 chin rating and not get stunned by some scrub with 70-75 power three or four times a round. I can be dominant when I am supposed to be on Champion and when I face a better fighter it's hard. I just beat Ali in my Lightheavy/heavy Legacy and he was a tough hombre, even at 86 overall and 35 years old. It took the second knockdown in the 7th to finish him (flash knockdown in 2nd) and that was one of those 'puncher's chance' shots. I was down on two cards and coming back, but he effectively kicked my tail. Now it's on to Mike Tyson to win the 2nd of the three heavyweight belts.

The biggest reason I am playing on Champion, besides how the CPU is favored in punching power and accuracy, is on GOAT Tommy Morrison had the defensive skills of Sweet Pea Whitaker, and that's some bull. On Champion he came at me and pressured me the entire fight, even trading shots at times to give one.

The other reason is I can use my jab without being countered every freaking time. My jab means something on Champion, whereas on GOAT I have to set the jab up when in real life boxing the jab sets everything else up.

fnr4 judges scores are based on punch landed percentage, and punch landed number.
