Sounds like we are in the same boat. I win pretty much every round on Pro but lose pretty much every round on Champion. Your body blocking is an issue i haven't solved either. I also don't seem to counter well either which i think is a big reason for my lack of knockouts. Bottomline, i need to block better.

Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread
Ha, add me to this boat as well. My defense sucks, I need major practice on that aspect of my game. I can hang on champion except for the fact that I can't counter punch so I end up getting stunned too much resulting in getting KO'd eventually.
I think I need to slow down and pick my sports better. I have been using a combo of sliders that everyone has posted so thanks a bunch. Loving the game.Comment

I don't have much problem with counters - I was 12 of 16 against Cintron. My big problems are
1) Not waiting for good punching opportunities/throwing too many garbage punches and
2) Not being able to block well enough.Recovering slider addict...Fight Night Round 4 caused me to relapse...Comment

Hey juk, thanks a bunch for editing the thread starter. Go ahead and just change mine to Champion, I won't be going back to Pro as it's just too easy.Recovering slider addict...Fight Night Round 4 caused me to relapse...Comment

Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread
Tried them all and each have a interesting take but Parkers seem to fit my style very well going from pro to champ.
I did lower cpu Def awa to 6 from 10 just a bit to hard to crack if down a bit and it really causes problems for me in late rounds as it also makes any haymakers very hard to land for clean KO or KD and speed down to 5 ish.
Granted I am testing these with Me Ali vs Foreman what freaking monster to get away from.
With these even if im in trouble I can defend myself and survive the storm once and a while.
Very nice pace and with these in my first few fights lots of freedom to to try and stick with a gameplan.
CPU Offensive Awa is the key at 0 and I can then actually try to fight my style without having to get into a slugfest.
Nice Job Man and if I get to good I can easily raise Cpu Off awa or punch output !but I dont see that coming anytime soon .

Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread
I Cant speak for parker but I find it frees me up to actually box , I can now Box like Ali without just being creamed on the ropes and then make my move if possible , it also seems to lessen accuracy and timing .
I also like the punch output low or at 0 as it controls cpu slugfest.
Eitherway keep it low on Champ level is a perfect fix for me to box to my fighters style and ill raise both as I get better .
I never thought i would play Champion but these make it possibleLast edited by dorismary; 06-28-2009, 02:18 AM.Comment

Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread
Using Parkers ,
Testing with me Ali vs Foreman around 10 matches , I was 1-9 till I made these changes .
I lowered the speed to 5 due to foremans attack so it helped me get a breather and kill time .
I also dropped Def Awa to 0 which seemed easier at 10 when first started ?
So am assuming the AI learning my moves after 10 games in a row who knows maybe I was tired .
What I really like about these with my changes both fighters were gassed at the end and the cpu choose their attack wisely and the more they were down the more aggressive they were .
I still threw too many punches but I knew I had to get to george early to slow him a bit but speed should help this plus hell be slower from more damage with less D.
Still gotta dance more to stay away but I feel a suction at times.
I also was able to grab George at key times at the end of rounds .
He really came at me in the 9th but with the lower speed I could dodge his punches and in the 10th he had one good rush but I wouldnt engage him in a slugfest and listened to teddy and pushed away from the table lol.
By far my most satisfying fight because I had a chance to keep my gameplan and now I will try some more fighters to test my changes.
I finally listen to the announcers for hints and inbetween rounds I also listened to Foremans crew so I knew what he would try .
Just cant stop playing this game its so addictive by far my game of the year.
Nice job on all the sliders guysComment

Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread
I'm gonna have to give props to JayBee for his early questioning of everyone raising the speed slider.
Not only have I found that I can move around the ring JUST FINE with the speed slider turned down (and even to ZERO), I've found that the increased speed for the CPU was a BIG part of my defensive problems!
I'm actually hanging on GOAT now with speed at default (5).Recovering slider addict...Fight Night Round 4 caused me to relapse...Comment

Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread
Just won my first decision on GOAT, playing as Lewis against Chambers. Won a UD (95-94, 96-93, 95-94) that wouldn't have been real close if I hadn't run out of gas. The only KD of the fight was late in the 10th when he caught me with a counter while I was being stupid.
I still threw too many punches (804) but he threw 574 with a 65% hit rate.Recovering slider addict...Fight Night Round 4 caused me to relapse...Comment
