Re: DLC to allow button punching

The stick doesn't register the punches accurately enough for me. If I want to throw a right hook to the head 50% of the time my boxer throws a right hook to the body. I just had a fight where I had my opponent stunned but for some reason the sticks would not allow me to throw any left hooks even while I was doin the left hook motion, it kept doin right uppercuts and hooks. That's not good. My boxer has even thrown punches without me even moving my stick. Hopefully they give us buttons and fighters with the DLC.

If none of you are ready for change, go play Prizefighter. Maybe if people took the time to learn the moves with the stick and 10 year olds stopped complaining we could move forward, but it's "waaaaahhhh, I have no buttons to push."

Just the name alone makes you feel pride in the U S of A

I understand your points, but I would much rather use all the money that it would take towards licensing those arenas and use it towards fighters. I would be happy if it was just generic casinos and arenas all over the world. We know it is the Garden, no reason to pay for it when that licensing fee could net Klitschko or Paul Williams or whomever.

You aren't listening. Of course people are going to adapt, but there is a segment of the market place that won't adapt and won't buy the game. It was really, really dumb of EA to polarize consumers. Just add another option. It is Business 101.

i also like how people say the stick is realistic when there is only ONE stick and a bocer has TWO hands

the stick can never be more realistic than the buttons because of that simple fact.
so its realistic for a boxer to have four hands? lol... be real

Re: DLC to allow button punching

There is no need for button punching IMO, the stick punching works great and is how the game is intended to be played.

                      lol...that's the spirit.

didn't a ps3 game have to patch in new controls because people were complaining about them being awful? If the developers would simply put in multiple control schemes, they wouldn't even have to worry about this.

It is an issue of how stubborn will a consumer be that they can't simply adjust to an innovation in boxing video games. Was there this much of an uproar when NHL took out the speed burst button? Were people refusing to buy the product unless it was patched? If so, two of EA's top 3 QUALITY sports titles (FN, NHL, FIFA) made genre changing innovations that stubborn people have missed out on.
                          long live the stick!!! lol

i hope they dont add the buttons. if that stops u from playing the game then so be it.

yet u still bought the game and u still enjoy it. get over it dude.

they dont care that u guys miss having buttons, the game is still getting rave reviews everywhere. im gonna go as far as to say they wont add the buttons. will u get rid of the game then? i bet u dont.

yea but will they take psn cards
Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.

Hopefully they add buttons as DLC , if they don't oh well. I don't mind using the stick its just that sometimes my thumb slips off the stick and when I see a counter shot opening I can't throw and with the buttons I'm able to make those punches. I find it very stupid that EA took out the buttons to enable people to fight realistically and get rid of "button mashers", when in reality in didn't change a damn thing and people online still throw punches like crazy.

This is really my only issue with the stick control. I get the same problem of sometimes having my boxer throw more punches than I intend. Maybe I'm just not totally used to the system yet, but I'll often go for a quick jab and my guy will do like a 3 punch combo.

I also sometimes have difficulty getting an uppercut to the head, the game often registers my input as a body uppercut.

With all that said I'm not terribly worried if they never add button punching. I'm having fun with the game and can mostly get the results I want. It would be nice to have the option, but I can live without it.

Having buttons completly make the stick useless... You could always tell when a guy was using the buttons vs. the stick simply because they could throw like no one else... Insane combos that never ended and pin point hits... It takes more effort to throw with the stick. It takes more patience to learn how to throw with the stick. For once, the people at EA have made a game that rewards effort and timing in a SIM way, and now all the cheezers are crying about it... Frankly, buttons would simply kill the online game...
