Too fast, too smart and just too damn good...

If you questioned Floyd's heart and chin before this fight you found out not only can he take a punch, he fights back...

The only real test left in this division for Floyd is P Will and that's because of his size advantage...Nobody else stands a chance against Floyd at 147...

Pacquiao will put up a better fight than Shane did tonight but Floyd will beat him to the punch just like JMM did and win by decision comfortably...

A good defensive fighter will be beat a good offensive fighter. I am not seeing anyone at 147 touching Floyd.

Paul Williams could give Floyd problems if he made weight.....No reason for Floyd to take that fight though

I used to think Pac's intangibles could carry him to a victory against Floyd but after seeing the force/damage Clottey had against Pac with so few punches, Floyd would probably whip him good too

PBF would beat Pac...but not only would Williams beat PBF...he would beat him easily.

I enjoyed the fight...by far PBF's best performance...I just wish he would have closed the show.

LOL!!!! I agree with you. Merchant's old senile *** has become more of a sideshow than anything. To me its kind of funny just to tune in to hear what the old man will stir up next. He's old and waaaaay past his prime so need need to get upset.

I am a Big manny fan and i must say a Mayweather/Pacman fight would look Exactly like tonights fight. maybe Pacman gettting knocked out late. i watch a ton of boxing and felt maybe Pacman being a busy fighter would benefit him vs Floyd but i take that back.

I don't care how many punches you throw... if you hit someone at a 20% clip your 9 times out of ten not winning.

His age played a part??? LOL!!!

Larry Merchant specifically asked Mosley about fighting Mayweather 6 or 7 years ago when Mosley was knocking peeps out and Mosley dodged him saying other fighters need a chance. Mosley dodged Mayweather for years but many will use Mosley's age as an excuse.

When Mosley was whipping the **** out of Margarito nobody used his age an excuse.

You are just talking to talk.

Mosley is washed up. Anyone who saw the Mayorga debacle understands this.

And Margocheato? The dude was a fraud, got exposed before the fight, and didn't know what to do. Margo was never good in the first place. That fight was an outlier.

Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Shane Mosley - 05-01-2010

The worst thing that could have happened to Shane was the second round. He caught Floyd and actually believed he could knock him out with one big punch later in the fight.

                      Big mistake.

From that point on, Floyd owned the fight because Shane continued to look for another big shot, which never came. You're not going to get a second chance at a big shot against Floyd Mayweather because he's just too good defensively and too good of a counterpuncher.

Once Shane realized that, he was too tentative and too jittery. It's funny: People laugh at Floyd Mayweather Sr. as being a loon, but he called Shane's style to perfection in episode three of "24/7" when he said Shane would bounce and be jittery the entire fight. Spot on.

It was largely irrelevant because Floyd crushed Shane in this fight, but I thought Kenny Bayless did an uncharacteristically bad job as referee. He was channeling Joe Cortez, being much too intrusive and allow way too little inside fighting.

Enjoy Floyd while you have him, as there are only two fights left for him at welterweight. Pacquiao or Paul Williams. And Pacquiao is the only one that will capture the public's attention.

Even so, I don't think Pacquiao can beat Mayweather. He leaves himself too vulnerable to counterpunches through his sometimes reckless multi-punch combos from different angles, and Floyd Mayweather is one of the greatest counterpunchers of all time.

My respect for Floyd increased exponentially tonight. He dismantled a Hall of Famer with ease.

Why? He still asks probing questions, which is a journalist's job, instead of kissing azz. Merchant is still a gem.

I'm not so sure about that. Williams would leave himself even more susceptible to counterpunches from Floyd than Pacquiao.

Williams has speed, but he's not as fast as Floyd. His claim to fame is work rate, throwing 100-plus punches per round. But if those punches aren't hitting anything, which I think would be the case against Floyd, what good does it do?

Prior to the fight, Mosely was the "hardest hitting WW", the "biggest test for Floyd at 147", Mayweather was "going to get ko'd", etc, etc. Every single times this man does this to someone people come with the excuses. I personally don't want to hear it anymore. This man just stood toe to tow with a Hall of Fame fighter, and brutalized him. Made it look easy. I don't care who you are, or whether or not you like him, but you must respect him. We bore witness to greatness in the ring tonight, appreciate him while he's still here.

By the way, Mosely was "too good" for Pac to fight according to Roach.

dude has a long jab.....even as bad as shane was beat tonight..in the 1st two rounds shane's jab kept it competitive

Paul could get some work done off that long jab.....maybe not ever hurt him like Mosley did, but defiantly could out work him
