    First 2 rounds, yeah.

    But 1-4? That's a stretch.

The fight isn't worth re-watching. But just look at the power punches in Rounds 3-4.

Garcia didn't want to move forward so he baited Guerrero into the lead right and counters.

Just for the promotional hype I would've loved to have Mayweather and Garcia fight. Floyd and his Dad vs Danny Garcia's Dad would've been great.

Kovalev-Pascal rematch tonight on HBO. Does anyone give the Canadian a chance?

Interesting comments from Keith Thurman on PPV:

"You know, Pay Per View, once upon a time I dreamed about being a Pay Per View fighter. And now, to me it doesn't really matter as much as Pay Per View, and the reason being, look what's happening. When I fought Robert Guerrero on CBS (the fight actually took place on NBC) we got 4.2 million viewers at the peak of the hour. "I don't want people, I don't want you guys have to pay to watch me fight. I don't want your money. I make enough money. I do not want your money. I'd rather see 10 million, 14 million, I'd rather get 20 million viewers on a network like CBS than to take the fans and entice them to pay for my fight."

I think Pascal will hang tight for some rounds and get finished in the 8/9 round range. I think Kovalev is overrated and will lose sooner than later though. Either to Ward or Stevenson, whoever he actually fights.

I don't think Kovalez is overrated, but his high Pound For Pound rating could be disputed based on some of his opponents (I wouldn't dispute it, just my opinion ). I'd like to see him take on either fighter, sooner than later.

EDIT: I just saw where Ward is scheduled to fight Abel Sanchez trained fighter Sullivan Barrera in late March. This guy is no slouch and will be a good 175 gauge for Andre.

                  No, unfortunately he'll be back.

EDIT: If Ward can handle 175 he'll give Sergio all he can handle. I don't even think Adonis "Chickenson" (LOL) plans to fight Kovalez.

                    Re: Boxing Off-Topic

I'm not even sure why that fight was made...I mean, the last fight was mildly interesting only because Pascal threw caution to the wind and tried to throw haymakers from the opening bell, and on occasion he caught Kovalev. But obviously that wasn't a very good strategy in the long run. The first fight wasn't really that competitive, so there was no reason to believe the second one would be any different. And it wasn't. Just sort of a waste of everyone's time, frankly.

I'm curious to see what Ward looks like at light heavy, but it's hard to know what to make of someone that's effectively been out of the ring for so long. I mean, I frankly forgot he was an active fighter more than a year ago. Hard to imagine you could come back in the ring, especially against a guy like Kovalev, and be anything close to competitive. Unless I see something that changes my mind, I'd be very dubious at his chances against the Krusher.

Some WWF-style antics the last few bouts between Tyson Fury and now Adonis Stevenson last night. Not that it matters since that fight won't be happening in the forseeable future, but it seems pretty clear to me that Kovalev is the superior fighter at this point. But who knows?

Here's what I do know: Kovalev is an evil dude. I mean, I always hear people allude to how he's a huge a**hole outside the ring but that stuff isn't knowable (by me, anyway). But what is clear is he enjoys hurting and punishing other guys; he's like a sadist, he just likes it. I know that this is the 'hurt business' (in the immortal words of Iron Mike) and it's hypocritical of me to criticize since this is a combat sport and I love seeing guys wail on each other, but even Iron Mike in his prime was always at least somewhat concerned for the health and safety of the other fighter when the bout was over. You get the feeling that Kovalev wouldn't even be bothered had he killed Pascal in there. I dunno, I just think there's something basically wrong with a guy who has a devlish grin on his face while talking about trying to break someone's body down when the fight is already over.

Anyway, until someone can do something about it, he's the best light heavyweight in the world.

Pascal laid some pretty nasty things at Sergios's feet, but the champ might want to tone down the punishment and other violent talk since he's already killed a guy in the ring.

Forgot about that. Simakov. Most fighters would be really shaken by that sort of thing. Not that it's anyone's fault, but I dunno...I just get a creepy feeling about Kovalev.

Don't know if I'd label him a sociopath yet (not saying you did), but I like that he's in boxing. I don't want him to hurt anybody else, but I can't wait to see if Andre can tame this beast.

Yeah, too early for that label and don't know him well enough. Maybe an overreaction on my part, but you hear things and who knows?

I'm glad he's in boxing as well. I used to really like him, but I'm starting to turn against him a bit lately. A year ago I'd have wanted him to knock Adonis Stevenson out, but now I'm not so sure. Not that we'll ever get to find out.

I'm not sold on Garcia yet and I think he can be beaten by any fighter with fast hands and feat.
I thought Khan was clearly the better fighter until his glass chin got tapped.

I'm not saying Garcia isn't a very good fighter. He's definitely in the mix at 147, but I want to see him step-up and fight the top 2 or 3 fighters at welterweight.

I think Bradley, Pac and Thurman would beat him at this point in his career.

Garcia is clearly beatable and like you said Khan was winning the fight. I think that's kinda the draw to him. He's in his prime and his fights have the potential to be very competitive because he is a beatable fighter.

Maybe it's the DMV in me but I liked Lamont Peterson to beat him with his boxing skill over power.
