True, also it's an easier fight then Stevenson or Kovalev. He wants none of either.

Interesting that journeyman Darnell Boone (19-21, 8 KOs) knocked out Stevenson and lost on a split decision to Kovalev.

He was destroyed by both in rematches.

Yeah hopkins was acting crazy talking about the floyd fight, no way that happens, he should stick to guys his own size. Honestly if hopkins really wants a big fight, he should take on either of these guys. I really would like to see andre ward against either though. I think ward would easily beat both of them though honestly, the guys in his own class.

Kovalev looked scarier, but hard to tell because I think Stevenson was facing a better opponent. But maybe not, who knows?

I understand where Stevenson is coming from by ducking Kovalev for right now, though. Why not make some money first, then when you absolutely have to, squaring off with Krusher? I don't like it as a fan, but from his perspective, he'll never be worth more than he is right now, nor be in a position to pick-and-choose his opponents, and if he were to lose to Kovalev (especially by KO), his chances for payday fights will be seriously diminished...

Remains to be seen if Ward wants to push for any of these fights, or be willing to take either at 175. There is an argument for Stevenson to fight Ward at 168, since Adonis's first light heavyweight bout was his destruction of Chad Dawson.

Agreed. As a fan, I hate it, but if I were him, I'd look to cash in with an easy fight first, too.

I would be absolutely giddy at the prospect of him fighting Krusher though.
Might be the first PPV fight I pay for in a long, long time.
I would force my boys to stay up with me to watch it too.

Problem is there's not much in the light heavweight division, besides those two. I believe Bute is moving up, Hopkins knows better, and even the 168's are thinning out with Frosh almost retired and Keesler thinking of going down to 160.

Kessler's might move down to 160??? That'd be pretty cool.
Lots of competition already at middleweight.

So Cotto turns down $10 million to fight Canelo to have a shot at Sergio Martinez's middleweight title.

First, they're offering Cotto that much money to fight Canelo?
Second, what does he expect to get from Martinez?

If he is secure enough with his money to turn down the Canelo fight good for him. Sergio has looked more vulnerable in his last few fights IMO.

Yeah i like martinez but he's 39 and he's having knee problems, he's having yet another knee surgery. At one point i said he was the fighter who would give mayweather the most problems(though he would still lose)

I beginning to doubt the veracity of that money offer. Someone was floating around Cotto getting $15 million to fight Martinez in November.

Sergio certainly doesn't get ANY respect money-wise in boxing. His biggest purse to date is $1.4 million for the Chavez fight. Wasn't that a big fight?

Nathan Cleverly is going up to cruiser-weight to face a highly rated knock out artist (Ilunga Makabu) just after being stomped by Kovalev at 175?

The kid has brass but his career could be over after this fight. The fight's Feb 1st.

Then again Kovalez does destroy everybody.

Cleverly is an idiot. It's not like the punches get softer.

LOL, maybe not. He pulled out of the fight yesterday with an undisclosed injury.

EDIT: I was half kidding, but the show's promoter said Clevery knew he had no shot against Makabu and is faking the injury. He also said everyone was telling Cleverly he had no shot.

That can kind of drain your confidence.
