He got beat down!!! I haven't heard but I've got to think he calls it quits after that. Go be an announcer while you can still talk.

    Porter looked like a beast!

Yeah those were some good fights. The whole card was solid. I was really impressed by porter and Bhop. Hasn't paulie never been KO'd? I feel like he hasn't but i could be wrong. Either way, contrary to what a lot of people try to say, paulie is no bum. He may not have power, but he's still a good boxer. That was a brutal tko. And Bhop looked great. Did you guys catch the post fight interview? Sounds like he wants adonis, i'd definitely wanna see that fight. Hard to believe he's 49.

      Just ridiculous.

I have a lot of respect for Bernard Hopkins as a fighter to be 50 years old and beating guys who are 1/2 his age, it is a testament to his work ethic and commitment to the profession. He isn't a PPV draw, but I enjoy what he as done for the sport.

        Having said that....

Knock off this I wanna fight Floyd at 165-168 crap. Floyd isn't gonna meet you are 165 (or 168), you won't go to 154 (and shouldn't) and there are better fights out there for Floyd (and maybe you too). I get that everyone wants to hit the Mayweather lotto, but this is just asinine.

I went to the fight on Saturday night. It was pretty awesome, to finally see a live event in person. B-Hop rocking the burgundy and gold was a nice touch, paying homage to the local area. I was seating right behind all of Pauli's family and friends, and you could sense after the second round, that they knew, he was in for a tough night. Literally after he ess KO'd the whole section just left. I felt bad for him. They brought a stretcher and everything.

You're right. He's a legend and a Hall Of Famer. It's remarkable what he's doing while getting older and stepping up from 160 to 175.

I think Kovalev would kill him, and he knows he's lucky to be on the other side of the boxing fence, as smaller people continues their asinine feud.

I think he could beat Stevenson, although Adonis seems to be more than power. That is a fight a fight I'd pay to see.

Paulie got creamed but I was expecting worse. Porter's aggression rather than his power seemed to carry the fight. He overwhelmed the "No-Punch" Kid, but he missed a lot of those slow left hook-right hook combos. He was at times throwing wild but had no fear of Malignaggi.

Eh, i think it's kinda weird to say kovalev would kill bhop, but bhop could beat stevonson. Kovalev and stevenson are about even in my book. They really haven't fought a fighter at bhops level, but to be fair stevenson at least beat chad dawson, who beat bhop. Honestly, Bhop vs adonis or kovalev is a fight i would love to see. And it's tough to pick who would come out on top.

Yeah, and Pavlik beat Taylor twice who beat Hopkins twice and we know how that worked out.

That's where we differ and I'm going out on the limb, by saying I don't think Kovalez and Stevenson are about even. I think Kovalez is a total animal, with an iron chin, and if I'm going to bet on who would fare better against Hopkins I don't even have to think about it. But remember I said B-Hop COULD beat Stevenson. I certainly think that Adonis could even win a decision. I remember the first Taylor-Hopkins fight, where Bernard showed a lot of respect for Taylor's moderate power, and he gave away a lot of early rounds because of it.

I just think at age 49-50 and out of his optimum weight class Hopkin's craftiness has a better chance against Adonis than it does Kovalez. He couldn't handle the speed "slap" pressure of Calzage, I just think Kovalez would wear him out. Hopkins has already lost to Dawson, and almost lost to Pascal, so the "level" that he is currently at as a light-heavyweight is questionable. He's not a 30 something middleweight in his prime anymore.

EDIT: Having said that I would love (and pay) to see any combination of matchups between Hopkins, Kovalez, or Adonis!

Nah trust me man, i know that a fighter beating a fighter that beat another fighter, doesn't mean they are guaranteed to beat said fighter. Styles make fights. I was just noting that adonis has beat a notable opponent, and i can't think of an opponent kovalev fought who was really notable. I could be wrong, i haven't kept up with him as much, but i don't think he's fought a fighter as good as chad dawson(and it's not like i think he's amazing either). Seems to me, from what i've seen, Stevenson and Kovalev have fought similar opposition, but the Stevenson may have a slight edge because of dawson(who again, isn't amazing, but is at least solid and a notable name). Kovalev probably has more power, and maybe a better chin. But i feel like adonis could possibly be a better counter puncher, and he seems to actually like to box and counter some. He's really not the brawler lot of people make him out to be, yeah he has a lot of power, but he's not aggressive like that IMO. I'd also venture to say calzaghe is faster than kovalev and stevenson(neither one really has blistering hand speed IMO). And that fight was kinda close.

And yeah, any combination of matchups between Hopkins, Stevenson, and Kovalev would be verry interesting. If Bhop manages to beat one of them, he should definitely move up the p4p rating list.

Wlad Klitschko fights an Australian truck driver tomorrow (ESPN 4PM CST)

Keith Thurman fights Julio Diaz who gave Shawn Porter a draw and another close fight, and barely lost to Khan. And this is in his last three fights! Thurman is a 9-1 favorite. (Showtime)

Lucas Matthysse fights puncher John Molina on the undercard. (Showtime)

Sure I'd be shocked if either Thurman or Matthysse lost, but their opponents aren't scrubs.

                          Thurman is dangerous.

I love everything about Thurman as a fight fan. He is an exciting young action fighter, who also is a little shaky with his defense, which means he hits and on occasion gets hit. I am looking forward to him moving up to challenge the best at his weight class in the next year. Clearly he is the next generation of greatness in the sport.

Matthysse looks like he really wants Danny Garcia again. That was a good fight and before the eye, it looked like "The Machine" had Garcia early on, I would not mind watching them again.

Could Danny face Matthysse before jumping to 147, I hope so. Because the 140 division seems pretty scarce.

Yeah, nothing wrong with a matthysee garcia rematch since the first fight was competitive. And that was another solid night of boxing. Monlina impressed me even though he got ko'd, the guy is tough, that was a great fight. Thurman looked good, i'm still not sold on him completely yet. Guys like him and GGG need to fight some notable solid opponents(diaz is ok, not a bum, but come on he's clearly past his prime). I'd like to see thurman vs porter.
