When I first heard of his sexual appetites years ago it surprised me, because he spoke like a born again Christian all the time.

dang, tarver....if you would've set up some kind of payment system to begin with, you wouldn't have to be dealing with that. $750,000 seems pretty high though. i have a teenage stepdaughter who hasn't seen a dime ever since we went to court. we'll see what happens on the next court date. maybe we'll get his car too. lol.

Hopefully I'm not violating policy here, but as a man of faith myself, this kind of stuff bothers me.
I know we all make mistakes and nobody is perfect.
But if you're going to be a celebrity and wear your faith on your sleeve, you better walk the walk.
And this isn't like Holyfield swore at someone, or has a drinking problem.
Infidelity is a pretty major 'no-no' in the Christian religion (in all religions I imagine).

Don't go on TV and tell everyone how they should living cleaner lifestyles or preach to people like Lennox Lewis about living with someone out of wedlock.
I'm pretty sure it's better to be faithful to someone without a marriage certificate than run around on your spouse.

Maybe he should have asked Evan Fields for spiritual guidance.

I think Evander was sincere about his faith, just not consistently dedicated. I remember when he had the heart scare after the Moorer fight he consulted evangelistic Benny Hinn to "lay hands on him" for healing purposes. Before the process he said he needs to “get right with the Lord” implying that he wasn't that right at the moment.

Obviously for this forum we don't need to get into televangelists' motives or faith-healing.

I know not all of you are getting the PPV fight, but does anyone give Jacobs a decent chance for the upset?

I will be watching the fight. My old boss always gets the ppvs and host fight parties. Old school like that. He doesn't like mma at all. I think his hope is to try to out box him and get a decision. I am hoping for a competitive fight though. He definitely has to not get into a slugfest even though a slugfest will be entertaining of course. I will be good either way because I won't be at work lol. It has been rough at my job the past couple of weeks.

i give him a puncher's chance....he has the power to do it. it's just a matter of timing and if he can land the punch in the right spot. however, it has to be early in the fight, because GGG will wear him down the longer the fight goes on.

Has Golovkin ever been dropped? I believe I read he's never been floored as an amateur or a pro.
He's taken some big shots and never seemed to be phased by them. He strong like bull!

Jacobs packs a wallop, but I'm not sure anyone at 160 has the one-punch power to stop him.
It would probably take an accumulation of shots and to do that, you need to go into the belly of the beast - which is where Triple-G thrives.

I think the only type of fighter that can beat him is a boxer/puncher who can stick and move all night long, but has decent enough pop to keep him honest and score points with the judges.
The problem with that strategy (so far) is that nobody has hurt him. He'll wade thru shots to cut off the ring and then deliver the boom.
I'm not sure there's anyone at 160 right now that can truly give him a challenge.
Father Time is the only opponent that will affect his career from here on out.
The fight with Yellow has to happen this year.

I don't think Jacobs can win a decision, because I don't see him with the ability to avoid and take what GGG can dish out for 12 full rounds. I saw Lemieux as having the better shot of beating Golovkin because of his sheer power. I believe Jacobs' only chance is to win the fight by KO or TKO relatively early in the fight. Very slim odds of that happening but I think it's his only route to victory.

If nothing else Jacobs is a fighter. He has chance. He needs a flawless fight, an honest corner and GGG to make a tactical error to open the door....But then again what chance did Buster Douglas have....?
