I saw that fight on closed circuit in the SuperDome (New Orleans).

Yeah that fight was racially based (and charged) as was the 80's Celtic-Lakers (or Lakers-Celtics, LOL) rivalry but the Nazi angle and the fact that there were a lot of Americans who put aside their biases to root for Joe, country and the right thing made it a little different.

    EDIT:

Yeah, and it was excellent as most episodes of that series were.

man, wish they would release HBO legendary nights on blu-ray...or have them in high-def for streaming under HBO. it would be epic. (do have them on dvd and they are awesome, to say the least.)

Top Rank Boxing is in the final stages of setting a matchup for June 9 between Shakur Stevenson and Rafeal Rivera. Rumors are the match will be shown on ESPN.

Not terribly important but a quick YouTube glance at the final few rounds of Ali-Bugner 2 eventually led me to the Englishman's bout with Joe Frazier:

Whoever came up with this scoring system was thinking too much.

Starting to come together nicely. The collision physics need some work, but I'm sure that's on your roadmap. Which engine are you using?

I'm doing all this within "Dreams" the PS4 'game' that allows you to make your own ...whatever you want.

It's really an amazing tool - yeah there will be constant tweaking, will never be perfect though and the collision won't be either so unless you are 'doing damage' - the gloves clipping through the other gloves is bound to happen from time to time.

Oh, I thought you were using a game engine, which is why I made the collision comment. Disregard . Keep up the project because it looks better than most of the "new" boxing games being released.

watched Duran vs Pazienza 1. That right Duran dropped him with was so SHORT! It was perfect and left a nasty circular cut over Paz's eye. Paz obviously goes on to win but if Duran's hand wasn't hurt .... some believe he deserved to win as it was. Really good fight I thought even though Duran was past his prime it was cool to watch. Paz had great head movement and evasion especially early.

That right though was just pin point and the timing doesn't get any better than that.

Another small update - I know people can't get past graphics/art, so I added some clothing ('m not the best at it) and faces and some skin tone.

I did tweak some other stuff and will continue that as well, but soon I will duplicate the 'player' again and add the AI to that duplicate so it will look much more like a competitive boxing match.

I'm still not sure about the ragdoll and I have some questions for you guys:

                          1. would you mind having 'less' control and having hooks and uppercuts randomly be chosen OR have each punch it's own button? Right now "in fighting" I've randommized it so 'square' is a left hook OR uppercut which is randomly chosen, and 'x' is a body hook OR uppercut. Outside I have each punch seperately and left trigger modifier for body for each punch.

                          2. do you mind the camera the way it is OR would you rather it stick to keeping the orientation the same no matter what (IE your guy on the left always like most games)?

                          Cheers,

I would definitely go for more control and not have any punch input generate anything random.
