Re: EA UFC 2 - How's Your Universe Going

I have my UFC 200 main card set up...

Connor vs Aldo for FW title
Tate vs Rousey for WBW title
Lawler vs GSP for WW title
Dos Anjos vs Nate for LW title (Connor gets winner)

I'm still debating on the rest of the card but this is my starting point.
"Hate my game, hate my swagger, my hunger. Hate that I'm a veteran, a champion. Hate that, hate it with all your heart...
...and hate that I'm loved for the exact same reasons."

Re: EA UFC 2 - How's Your Universe Going

Finished first event, UFC FN1: Hunt v. Mir

Keep in mind, I am just a VERY casual UFC watcher so my booking might not be the best, but I am having fun so that's all that matters!

Below is my Fight Night card, VERY good event, TKOs, KOs, SUBs, DECISIONS. Very rounded, I played each one. It was very fun playing as fighters I would never use.

Few notes about the universe spreadsheet I ran into (might not affect you but I did no editing and realized these things):

      1) I sorted it by rank and when transferring results to MASTER sheet, it was messed up, sorted back by alphabet as originally started, worked like a charm!

      2) The streaks were messed up, some would change correctly, some would not, etc.. They were set up as percentile, the easiest fix is to delete all icon sets, re-add icon set and only use GREEN UP ARROW, YELLOW EVEN ARROW, RED DOWN ARROW, set to value and green >= 1, yellow >=0, red >= -1, make sure to apply only to the streak column from very top to very bottom, this fixed it perfect and works great for me! (Terrible explanation but if you are used to excel, it makes sense, if not, PM me and I can help further if need be)

Again, these are MY issues I ran into and may not affect anyone else but I did not edit anything besides sorting originally.

Anyhow, here are UFC FN1: Hunt v. Mir Results:

Frank Mir v. Mark Hunt was a great matchup, Mir kept taking things to the ground but got sloppy in the 2nd and tried swapping blows and was caught by a few nasty punches by Hunt and went out cold!

Fight of the Night - Swanson v. Holloway - By far the best fight of the night, as the award says, this fight featured it all, standup, clinch, ground game, some solid exchanges given but never enough to end in a knockout fashion. Swanson almost had the SUB in the 2nd and got out at the VERY last second.

Worst Fight of the Night - Struve v. Slice - This might have been a booking error.. Super disadvantage for Kimbo, he had no chance really. He was dominated by reach and on the ground (as expected). He took shots, but just did not do anything on the ground to merit the judges to vote in his favor.

CM Punk surprised the MMA world with his debut. He quickly worked it to the ground and after a few hard elbows, it was over and blood was all over the mat, Punk will look to keep moving up in the ranks. This could be a fluke, or this could be the start of something great!

I just had Silva vs. Machida in my universe some cards ago. Silva won with a 1st round KO and then KO'd Maia in the 1st in his next fight. Maybe the spider of old is back.

There is no way to sim in Event Mode.

Each fight has to be User vs. User, User vs. CPU, or CPU vs. CPU.

Re: EA UFC 2 - How's Your Universe Going

So I put in some house rules to get things going until/unless the AI is patched to where I can give it my all. No GnP with non-wrestlers, no thai clinch with guys that don't use that (and limited even then), no following wrestlers to the ground on knockdowns (might change that one after what just happened), no stamina on the screen, playing on hard. Overall it's been much better; I'm still usually winning but it's not a sure thing anymore.

In my first event's Jones (me) and Cormier had a good battle. I knocked him down once in the first but didn't follow him to the ground. Then in the second he got on top of me and i just couldn't shake him off. He got some decent GnP on me, but I got some good shots while we were standing. In the third he got me down again after shooting during a spinning attack and GnPed me until I was out to keep the belt.

In my second event's co-main of Pettis vs Barboza I got knockdown after knockdown but he didn't stay down for any of them. I ended up with 11 by the end of the fight. I won a unanimous decision with all the scores being 29-25. I might have to make it so on the second or third KD I can follow them.

With my favorite PC game coming out a few days ago I'm going to switch over to CPU vs CPU for this and just let fights run while I play my other game... lol

Just wondering what everyone does for scheduling and injury suspensions (or how often you let guys fight)

Currently I have a schedule for 2 normal events then a PPV and just repeating that. Any other ideas? I think running it CPU vs CPU I'll get through more events so I want to use more realistic injury lengths ect..

Right now what ive done when using Jeremys spreadsheet is I put the card number in the last fight column for a fighter(so lets say they fought at UFC 197) and after I finish the event, if said fighter gets KO'd or TKO'd I will make the text red indicating they are "medically suspended". I will then have to go back and search that event and if enough time has passed(say 6 months minimum) I can schedule them to fight again.

Probably not the best way but a quick and easy way to see whos available to fight and whos not without getting too in depth. May make a green one for guys who came out of a fight without getting hit at all. Not sure yet.

So if you had a fight that ended in Rd 2 by submission for example, would you limit when those two can fight again?

Sorry just trying to get some ideas, I haven't thought of anything that I like on my own yet haha

you just have to take how much damage they took and whatnot. If i have a guy lose in a fight and gets the hell beat out of him then it's usually 6 months. if they lose by 2nd round sub like you said and they didn't take too much damage then maybe 4 months.. it all depends on how they fought and what damage they took.

Didn't do too much long term planning with my first card I created, so wiping that from existence and reset myself. So for the first month I've got

                              UFC 1: Cormier vs Jones
UFC on Fox 1: Johnson vs Gustaffson
UFC Fight Night 1: Overeem vs Rothwell
UFC Fight Pass 1: Punk vs Akhemedov

Super fight for the MW belt: Silva v. GSP. Both guys are currently champions

                                HW Belt: Miocic v. Werdum

                                WBW Belt: Rousey v. Carmouche.
