I love that if you play as Sakuraba, Buffer calls him by all of his nicknames. You can tell the devs are diehard MMA fans and that is awesome.Mets/Giants/Knicks/Rangers/Manchester United/Notre Dame Football

Re: EA Sports UFC 2 Community Impressions
Played against Clay Guida. They nailed the AI version of him. Guida was wild and reckless like in real life. What I didn't like however was a couple of times Guida would take me down and then instantly stand back up. I thought that was weird.
I also noticed the AI did way more head movement to avoid strikes rather then parrying. Could have just been a Guida thing, who knows. However as always, the CPU eats way too many uppercuts. I once hit Guida with like 3 to 4 uppercuts in a row and I wasn't even in the clinch. He just refused to block it, instead the AI blindly just tried to haymaker strike their way through it. Needless to say that led to him being knocked down. One diving forearm smash later into his guard and he was TKO'ed.
Ground and pound is over powered simply because of 2 things:
1. G & P ratings are too high for too many fighters
2. AI does a bad job of blocking strikes when they are on the ground. First reaction after you been taken down or knocked down should be to protect your face. The AI only reaction is to immediately transition or to immediately try to block your transition.Comment

Bigs can cover to much ground on defense(they are too fast)
Late contest on laups matter too much.
Random blocks doing pumpfakes.
Leaning shots for guys who have catch and shoot badge should be removed.Comment

Re: EA Sports UFC 2 Community Impressions
Straight punches (power hand) NEED to start being counted as significant strikes, or at least weighted more heavily in the decision making process. I can't tell you how many times I've lost these types of fights 30-27 across the board.

Re: EA Sports UFC 2 Community Impressions
Yeah my main problem with the game's judging system is that in my experience, significant strikes landed tend to heavily outweigh total strikes. As someone who plays almost entirely offline, I hate to see the fights go to the scorecards because the AI throws such a high amount of modified punches in its design. I'd say it's pretty routine to see 50-60% of an AI fighter's total thrown strikes to be significant while mine are in the 20-30% range.
That % thrown by the AI is something I've always wanted to see addressed for a couple of reasons, but high modified strikes thrown by the AI has been present since the Fight Night series.
edit: Just had an interesting split decision loss (30-27, 28-29, 28-29).Last edited by zmcman1; 03-26-2016, 07:43 AM.Comment

Re: EA Sports UFC 2 Community Impressions
Seems pretty hard to build your dude up in Ultimate Team without spending money. I'm doing the best that I can, but he's so weak. I keep getting dropped eventually, no matter how much I'm outstriking them. Maybe I should play the CPU for a bit and try to farm some coins or something.Comment
