That happens often. It ought to be that if you block a transition you can hit them before they get interrupt their strikes. It is especially frustrating when one has full stamina and they have zero. Good player have no problem hitting me in the reversed situation.Comment

I was talking about standup circle strafing or how to call it, but yes those transitions on ground left right can be confusingComment

Re: Official EA UFC 2 "Teach me how/strategy" thread
You should normally be able to reverse arm catch transitions, but you'll have to know the directions by heart. Though there's some logic in the directions, it's sometimes arbitrary and you'll have to learn it.Comment

Re: Official EA UFC 2 "Teach me how/strategy" thread
What am I supposed to do in offensive crucifix? I deny all sub fighters transitions, until he has no stamina. If he doesn't stop spamming transitions (or just fakes) I'm not able to throw a punch. If i try, he hips out which looses me at least half of my stamina. I can hold im in crucifix the whole round denying everything but thats just unsatisfying. Is there a trick to get at least a few punches/elbows through inside the crucifix?Comment

Re: Official EA UFC 2 "Teach me how/strategy" thread
another one is when opponent is in your guard, use the full guard option to shift momentum then hold LB and do the transition to half guard in the same direction that you just pushed your opponent to.
As I said a lot is common sense, try and consider where either your or your opponents weight would be shifted or placed and transition accordingly. It's easier if you have a real life knowledge of BJJ but it's not so hard to pick up otherwise.
Also the momentum shift works with clinch grappling so if you have your opponent against the cage in single collar and they whip you round so they have single collar with you against the cage, if you hold LB then transition to single collar in the direction you just got whipped you will reverse the position really fast. Also try and keep this in mind when your opponent is transitioning, the better guys at the game have momentum transitions down so if you can see where your momentum is heading you can deny in that direction as soon as you spot the mvement and 9/10 you will get the denial and gain GA.
This isn't everything there is to momentum but it's the basics and knowing this will enable you to have a lot more success in the grappling aspects, especially against the top guys.

Re: Official EA UFC 2 "Teach me how/strategy" thread
Momentum transitions are all common sense. Look at the direction that either your or your opponents weight is travelling and transition them in that direction. A simple one is when someone takes you into back sitting position using the arm drag, for a quick escape transition immediately in the direction that you are travelling to get right back to full guard. Ie. You are in guard and get arm dragged and rolled to your right to end up is Sub back sitting, if you immediately hold left on RS the transition to guard again will happen very fast depending on stamina and GA.

Re: Official EA UFC 2 "Teach me how/strategy" thread
For me the most useful momentum transitions are:
After you escape SUB MT Clinch to Single Collar, immediately go for the Leg grab.
Immediately after being put into Sub Side control, tranfer to sprawl.
After being put in Sub Mount, immediately try the Get up.
They don't always work if your opponent is expecting them but they are significantly harder to deny."Faith: Not wanting to know what is true." Friedrich Nietzsche

Re: Official EA UFC 2 "Teach me how/strategy" thread
MadChendez, thanks for the great reply. I will read it closely and experiment, but it would still be great to see these demonstrated. My knowledge of this game comes from many sources (forums, youtubes, practice); it would be nice if EA put everything in one place. I would gladly pay for the strategy guide.
Are there any tech-savvy and knowledgeable players able to do a demonstration video?

Re: Official EA UFC 2 "Teach me how/strategy" thread
You do it with LB + left or right as a transition (it's not a reversal). I think you need some level of it but I don't know which one.Comment
