Do people not remember the widespread side control knee spam bug? EA UFC 3 isn’t perfect but I’m taking it over the cheesy crap in UD3

Like u said, it was a bug, in a time that we didnt get the patches that we have now...
Even with this, its better than a guy baby punching you camping a deny to drain your stamina and submit like how it works now

Hopefully GPD will come out like a man possessed for UFC 4 and redesign the system from the ground up. Looks like that’s what the people want according to the poll here.

There was a recent thread full of good ideas, pretty well thought out and one that made use of the whole controller. It shouldn't stay buried, it was good in my opinion.

What? It wasn't a bug, you just had to block+minor transition into half guard. Very easy

Start over. This is a terrible base to work from IMO. Horrendous UI, and even the basic control of holding a direction and watching bars load feels awful. The system of "fakes" and "denials" is just awful.

Start fresh with a base that makes more sense and is more fun, and build off that instead.

Can’t agree more, this system based on lay n pray, that conection and even a monitor can make a huge difference needs to go

I think we need sub transitions and get rid of filling meters. Let ground and pound mean something again. The grey areas slightly improved. But its just a band aid till they redesign it again. How do you call this a complete ground game with only 9 positions? Theres no attention to wrist control or rides. The stand up timers says it all about what they think about the ground. They took a huge portion of meta way by not allowing lay and pray. Watch gsp. He is content to stay in the guard. He gives you 2 choices. Sit there and lose the round or escape. Pressure on the ground is exherted by exhausting your opponent in his effort to get up. All they do is wait for a broken overly generous stand up timer to save them. People dont like ud3 because of nostalgia. They like it BECAUSE IT'S REALISTIC! And can we do away with canned animations? Ud3s were done mostly by hand.

Couldn’t agree with you and Haz more. The fact that you have to fake to be effective and get transitions at higher levels is just ridiculous.

The way UD3 dealt with grappling transitions and denials was obviously much better and led to more activity on the ground. Activity that’s not two grown @$$ men twitching on the ground in order to pass guard, regain guard, etc.

False. You cant stay in one position you get stood up. I play at the highest levels i know what I am talking about

Of course it’s what happens in real life! Even in lay’n pray u have to strike at some point... everything u do in the ground in this game is lay’n pray, doesn’t matter if the referee stand up.

In real life: lay’n pray to the end of the fight

In this game: lay’n pray for a deny

Check out some real ufc fights sometime, if more people could see real life ufc fights I don’t think there would be so much confusion on this forum...

True, true... nobody do heavy ground and pound, everybody fake transition to make their oponnent miss a deny, because the opponent just can’t hold you in the ground when he still has a full grip. Also when a fighter try to transition and the opponent hold them in a position we can see the fighter that was going to transit gas heavily... true, true

Lol, nice one. I’m with you. The twitching /uncontrollable seizures need to go, and without those the current grappling system falls apart.

To your second point, having transitions and denied transitions take less short term stamina would speed up the ground game significantly as well.

Just got done playing UD3 and had some really epic grappling matches that were incomparably better than EA UFC 3.
