When you purchase a title no matter what, you are sending a signal to the company that they can ignore you. Expecting a corporation to be appreciative of their hardcore fans is naive imo. They only care about their hardcore fans if they understand that removing, not adding or adding a feature could result in them not buying the game.

If you take that away, a video game company will solely focus on the communities who they cant rely on to buy the game no matter what.
Yh you have a point...can't argue with that. I will say though, that EA has delivered on quite a few things I and others have ranted about on these forums in UFC 2 and UFC 3, so can't say i've been ignored, despite being a guy that religiously buys these games.

Yeah, that's one thing I've been wondering - does buying the game at half price "hurt" EA? The logical answer is yes but there may be more to it.

It's still better than nothing. Realistically speaking, few people will buy a sports game for full price after it has been out for several months so they may as well put it on sale.

                Needs:

                - Some major new gameplay changes be it striking or grappling, something to really differentiate and improve upon UFC 3, because that's what will keep my interest at the end of the day and keep me playing beyond a few weeks. Like, if it were somehow more fluid, less of the magnetism and more of an organic feel rather than x beats y beats z beats x, that would be stellar! Basically if it's the same as UFC 3 in gameplay, it's a pass until I guess the price drops, reason being I don't play much games these days anyway and it needs to grab my attention rather than me forcing myself to pick it up.

                - CAF updates namely access to more moves and varied moves, which I'm sure will happen, I'm talking Gaethje block, Zabit trips etc. with more CAF slots and improved stability like Gameface, better saving system so they don't get deleted, faster loading.

                Wants:
                - More venues from other disciplines & rule sets to go with them like Sambo mats, BJJ dojos, Boxing rings, Lumpinee stadium.
                - Roster fighter editing.
                - Silly backdrops like Rooftop, Bar Room, Conference Room, Hotel Lobby, Elevator, crazy stuff like that to scratch my Tekken itch xD
                - CAF share.

                [/spoiler]

Amen, it's all about the gameplay. That's what keeps us playing.
I absolutely love the idea of modes for other disciplines like boxing mode with gloves on and boxing rules, sambo or bjj mode on bjj mats with bjj rules. That would be killer.

Haha, yeah I'll pass on the elevator and rooftop stuff as well. That's a bit too much for me lol. I'm sure they'll implement some crazy arcade stuff though from the sounds of the survey that was sent out a while back - "Gloves lighting up with different effects" "watch the particles fly". If that stuff brings in noobs great but I'll take a hard pass.

Good point, that's the only fitting place for the Diaz bros to be fighting now lol. And Nick only fights to lift those huge blunts up to his lips for the daily wake and bake.

Re: UFC 4: Needs vs. Wants

Need: -major bug fixes and tracking fixes.
-60 fps. don't care how you do it on old ps4s
-Dedicated servers. This should probably be #1
-fluidity overhaul on striking and total re-balance of stamina vs. damage plus a rethinking of the vulnerabilities.
-at least 3 different animations for each strike
                          -block from side control bottom.
-better damage from unpostured strikes but hand control to balance
-much better fluidity for all grappling, striking during take-downs and transitions etc.

                          Want:

-UFC2 UT mode. Cut. paste. done. save-able movesets on CAFs

-Open lobby p2p with custom rule-sets and visible connection meters
-Physics. I hate RPM. I really do. It looks bad and I think its mainly responsible for the collision/speed problems.
-Better submissions system. There has to be something better than hold a joystick one direction, then flick the other.
-More open combo system, less dropped inputs/laggy feel to gameplay.

Re: UFC 4: Needs vs. Wants

Just got done watching some fights so I'm pumped and ready to go. Here goes it:

                            Needs:

1.) An overhaul or extreme enhancement of the grappling system. This means multiple different takedown animations, sometimes specific to certain fighters. Blast doubles and whatnot. I don't really know everything that would be possible to do on the ground, but things to make it more urgent and intricate are important. Make the ground and pound from the top (especially from guard) faster and more heavy depending on which fighter you are, and then possibly incorporate something like ground sways on the bottom to counteract the power from the top.

Make the grappling on the bottom a little bit more fluid and realistic. Once again I don't know what is entirely possible here so I can't make a ton of specific suggestions, but the ground game is what was lacking the most for me in the last one, and to be excited about the next game I'd like to see a vast improvement.

2.) Varying animations for fighters. Not everyone needs to be mo-capped or anything like that, but there definitely needs to be differences in animation in relation to skill. Something that annoys me about playing now is that even if I'm fighting someone like Khabib, they can just smash me with these quick and hard leg kicks, even if their kick rating is low. Change the animations for fighters who aren't adept at a particular skill. A Dan Henderson leg kick should be so noticeably weak that whoever plays as him won't even want to throw one. This would kind of force everyone to play more like the fighter that they've chosen. I also think that a power modifier would help with the realism with animations as well. It's frustrating playing as GSP because in real life, GSP has this powerful, lunging jab that does real damage. But on the game, GSP's jab feels just as weak as everyone else's, and as a result I don't really feel like I'm playing with GSP as I should be. Same goes with fighters who rock people with straights. Conor and other fighters rock people with straights and pull counters, but I feel like real damage can only be done with hooks right now.

3.) Universe/President Mode. My favorite mode in all of gaming is 2K's MyLeague mode, and it's because I get to shape teams and the league in interesting ways to see what transpires. I debating and discussing matchmaking with buddies and real life, and I'd love to take over the UFC and try to run it the way I'd like it to be ran. This is a must for me, especially since I'm not a huge Career Mode kind of guy (though an improved Career Mode wouldn't hurt).

                            Wants:

                            - More fluid clinch striking and transitions
                            - A different submission system. I really have no solid input on how to change it, but the submission system now kind of takes me out of the moment
                            - Realistic damage. If I jab someone a million times in the same eye, it'd be cool for that specific spot to swell up, etc.
                            - More flash KO's, fight-ending strikes. I feel like right now, I have to rock someone like 4 times in order to get the finish. I'm not saying flash KO's should happen all the time, but if I catch someone with a perfectly timed shot, it would be cool to be able to finish them off right there instead of having to go through that like 5 times
                            - Improved lateral movement. Implement a way to be able to move side-to-side in the way that Frankie Edgar does.
                            - Classic fights mode

Re: UFC 4: Needs vs. Wants

                              Needs
                              1) the UT mode needs to go back to its glory days with CAF"s only+ a ton of additions and customization variations, dont want to see roster fighters in this mode. I want to be able to make my guy/my team and see other peoples creativity when fighting. I want to see fight camps, for Camp vs Camp in UT, different advantages for having higher tier camps, and leveling it up can help you train your move sets and things like that.

                              2) Much more separation between different builds, so like i dont want to see guys with boxing/bjj build because boxing would give you the best chin stats or cardio or something along those lines, i want to see all sort of disciplines with positives and negatives for picking each one. I want to play with 3/4 friends and none of us have the same build/skills, that type of variety.

                              Wants
                              (1) More intricate grappling system with a ton of different moves and positions.

                              (2) for things to be unique and hard to achieve, i dont want to see people having maxed out move sets and things like that in just a few weeks, it needs to be rewarding to progress with constant new content coming in.

                              (3) Risk vs Reward, ive made threads and constantly ask for this, if i pick Ngannou, that means i wont have good cardio, but even god should fear getting KO'ed....I dont want to see guys taking punches from huge power punchers and as long as their head isnt red they will be ok and will recover if rocked... Just silly, give me real Risk vs Reward, so that a guy can pick someone with cardio and throw 100 punches and beat me down that way, vs a guy who can land 1 powershot and be able to KO you instantly.

                              (4) Flash KO's, real flash ko's without having to go 4 rounds to get a guys head red and then having a chance to KO them...

                              (5) remove the HP hud, its 2019, we are WAY past having health bars with the current and next gen consoles and graphics... We should be able to not only see that we are hurt, but have the common sense that you got hit 5 times in 5 seconds and your guys face is a mess and he is squinting and wobbling... Dont need a health bar to tell you the same..

                              (6) Clinch seems to be in an odd spot, could use some work, its not being utilized enough and i dont think it currently has enough complexity to it to be used frequently enough.

                              (7) Overall game complexity, i think at this point in our society, we are getting bored or past the point with easy games and simple-minded features, its why games are having remakes to their original versions because they have been too simplified for their own fan bases(OSRS,Classic WoW, Cod4)
Lets make MMA what its supposed to be, a complex sport of risk vs reward at every level and pure 100% unfiltered adrenaline and excitement.

Yeah I don't know if this is a need or want or whatever but knowing that I'll have to knock a guy down or stun him 10 times kills my desire to play almost entirely. Just the knowledge that hurting your opponent barely has any consequences is annoying as hell. The next game needs dynamic (temporary or permanent) stat drops during a fight that reflect the damage done, that prevent the guy from coming forward like they used to before getting hurt. Of course, make it so landing shots is harder, naturally. The game also desperately needs TKOs. Desperately. You take a lot of damage, ref stops it, no more Mazzagatti giving you a chance to be a warrior. The game lacks excitement and urgency, it's all so perfectly... "balanced", "you'll get 17 opportunities to come up with something, don't worry." I've posted this before but eh, I thought I'd do it again.
