That's a good point. I don't think that the quality of fights will fall off dramatically, but it will definitely be something to keep an eye out for.

I wonder what the process is for informing a fighter of what they can and can't use? Is it just paperwork with a long list of stuff on it? With penalties being so stiff, hopefully the commission is doing everything they can to make things as idiot-proof as possible. We should be at a point where the fighters can plug different supplements/ingredients into a computer and get the okay or not. I'd hate to see guys who weren't looking to stretch the rules end up getting suspended.

The responsibility lies with the fighter and the information is on NSAC's website. They need to reach out to the commission if they have any questions.

I pretty much echo aholbert's sentiments here.

Love them toughening up. Hate the marijuana penalty, but at least they're being strong with these penalties. Good for them.

So Diaz is done, has 1 fight left after his upcoming suspension. When he comes back to fight, he will fail again and be gone 18 months and career over.

I think he will be OK. One, I dont know if you heard but Nevada ****ed up his test. They tested him three times on fight night. Two came back negative and one came back positive. Plus Nevada sent the first and second tests to one lab and the third one to another lab who use different measures on what is a positive test.

His attorney is currently negotiating a settlement with NV that will allow Diaz to fight immediately.

Second, Diaz can always just avoid Vegas. He is a draw pretty much anywhere and I doubt the UFC's own drug policy (coming out on June 7) will be as strong as NV's when it comes to weed.

I tried watching but the stream was pretty bad. I could watch about two minutes of live action, then it would load for five minutes. I just gave up after a while.

Something about this reebok deal seems off to me.

If a guy signs a contract to fight for a company, and then after they sign that company changes policy that limits that fighters ability to make a living, can't that fighter get out of their contract? Not sure about the legality of all that. Seems kinda wrong to me.

I understand the UFCs vision with the reebok deal, I don't agree worth it though. Saying "this makes us like the other sports" and that whole line of thinking doesn't work when those other sports pay their athletes WAY more. Dana seems to like "being like the other leagues" with everything except fighter compensation.

I don't think Mitrione, Schaub, and Cerrone are lying when they say that they are losing huge money.

Its not that simple. Their contracts always stated that the UFC controls what brands are advertised during UFC events. The UFC has always exercised this control through the advertiser tax it used to charge to big advertisers.

This is why you never saw GSP wear Under Armour during fights even though he's been signed to them for years. UA refused to pay the tax. The Reebok deal is just the UFC using this restriction in a stronger fashion.

I dont think Cerrone and the others are lying at all. Cerrone had deals with Tapout, Budweiser (which will continue because Bud is a UFC sponsor) and other small companies. I think the UFC just needs to find a middle ground.

If people like Schaub are able to find advertisers that dont conflict with the major UFC sponsors like Reebok, Monster and Dodge...the UFC should allow them some space on their shorts or shirt to advertise it.

Alexander Emelianenko was convicted of sexual assault charges and sentenced to 4 ½ years in jail, reported the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI) on Tuesday. Emelianenko was also fined 50,000 rubles ($1,000) by Moscow's Simonovsky District Court.

Emelianenko, whose brother Fedor is regarded as perhaps the best MMA heavyweight of all time, was found guilty on charges that he assaulted and raped his housekeeper, Polina Stepanova, on March 2, 2014 and then seized her passport. Emelianenko, 33, pleaded not guilty and claimed the sex was consensual. Prosecutors were asking for five years in prison for Emelianenko.

Bendo says that he's moving to 170 permanently. His fight against Thatch was fun to watch, this should be interesting. I'm not sure if I like the move, but maybe he's tired of cutting weight all the time. He usually looks pretty drawn on weigh-in day.

He's going to have a tough time at that weight. Thatch wins if he doesn't run out of gas.

Nah Bendo won because he was the better fighter. He gassed because Bendo got him down and beat him up.
