Do you think Forrest will feel guilty cashing that check for fight of the night?

Re: UFC 101: Declaration - August 8th in Philadelphia
After watching that - I'd truly feel sorry for GSP if he was dumb enough to sign a fight against him. Dude wants to test himself against the best, but does he really want to be completely dismantled? I don't really see what GSP could possibly do to the man.
He's had two fights now at 205 with something to prove, and just destroyed both of them. A few lack luster fights at 185, but honestly he's got nothing to prove down there. If it weren't for Machida, I could see Silva moving up permanently.Last edited by MC Fatigue; 08-09-2009, 06:49 AM.Comment

Re: UFC 101: Declaration - August 8th in Philadelphia
did forrest just take a dive or something? that was the weirdest fight i've ever seen. lw's can take that ko punch. the way he just got up and ran away...it was all very strange to me.
if forrest was really ko'd by that punch, his career is over. anyone can take that punch.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Dislocated jaw and couldn't hear out of one ear. It wasn't the last punch that did it. The knock down before that

Re: UFC 101: Declaration - August 8th in Philadelphia
the same type of confident style posts were flying around that gsp would get ko'd by alves and he dominated him.
this fight with forrest didn't prove much to me...it was a crap fight - forrest didn't try to bring any type of pain...it's was just crap. it's like he wanted to go down and get ko'd.
This wasn't some kind of amazing wow-factor fights imo...forrest should be very embarassed. maybe cote should move up and go to a decision. crap fight, doesn't say anything about how gsp would fare against him. and imo gsp can win.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

don't think Forrest should be embarassed. If that is the case, then pretty much everyone Silva fought should be embarassed. He was caught with a good punch that dislocated his jaw by arguably the best P4P fighter in the world. My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

I don't know, it didn't look like he was able to do anything once he dropped and he didn't protest them stopping the fight.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

i think the issue is Hendricks hit him like 5 times in the back of the head wildly and the ref did nothing. Amir was definetly stunned but I dont know how you allow Hendricks to hit him in the back of the head.Comment

Honestly; what part of watching Silva absolutely humiliate Forrest makes you think that GSP fighting him would be a good idea?
After watching that - I'd truly feel sorry for GSP if he was dumb enough to sign a fight against him. Dude wants to test himself against the best, but does he really want to be completely dismantled? I don't really see what GSP could possibly do to the man.
It'd certainly be tough, but GSP's chances are just as good today as they were two days ago against Silva.
That being said, if Silva comes out and dominated Hendo in his next fight, shrugging off takedowns and keeping the fight standing, then I'll say GSP has no chance. But right now, there's still the very real chance GSP could take him down repeatedly and control him and pound him on the ground.Comment

Yeah, I don't have a problem with the timing of the stoppage as much as the fact that Hendricks was just unloading on the back of Amir's head with no repercussions. That was insane.Comment
