    Reaching?

The "beef" doesn't feel right nor real, I'm not sure how I'm reaching when I'm simply replying to what you posted. Calling someone gay... pure theater.

    My original comments still stand.

Your reaching because you just used the lack of a "scuffle" and a false claim that Rampage didnt mention Rashad in the interview as evidence of why the "beef" is fake. I'm still confused as to how you stated earlier that Kos/Daley beef felt more "real" when Daley was calling him a ***** and they had a photo shop contest. What's the difference?

Re: UFC 114 - Rashad vs. Rampage

I said Page didn't "mention him that much" in the interview in my original comment. In my previous comment I said you would have believed Page would take that opportunity to talk about his next opponent and then to bash him... he didn't. He only barely mentioned Shad.

I didn't know about those "rules" in TUF. I still would have expected to see a few shoves and pushes instead of corny fake arguments.

The Kos/Daley thing felt somewhat legit, not like I was saying they had raging blood but it definitely didn't feel like this Page/Shad "built up animosity" thing.

I get it, of course the league is going to push that angle, they push bad blood angles for pretty much any bout.. I just happen to disagree with the people who take the beef as legit.

Rashad should take this if he plans on using his full range of skills. Because he prides himself so much on being the best fighter out there, he's one of those guys who improves leaps and bounds from fight to fight.

            Don't think anyone posted this:

It seems the animosity between UFC 114 headliners Rampage Jackson and Rashad Evans goes back further then The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) season 10.

Jackson explains that the feud actually rooted back six years ago when Rashad Evans fought Jackson's then protege Hector Ramirez at Gladiator Challenge 27.

Ramirez, also a former wrestler, suffered torn ligaments in his right ankle early in the first round leaving Ramirez with no choice but to stand and swing for a knockout which did not come.

During the second round Evans who had been trainig with UFC legend Dan Severn at the time, slowly picked Ramirez apart in the stand-up. Becoming cocky at times, Evans put his hands down and showboated angering Jackson.

Evans won the fight by unanimous decision, giving Ramirez his first MMA loss of his career.

"Rashad was still dancing around playing with his nipples back then with them little tight shorts on acting like he was doing something," he told MMAjunkie.com Tuesday during a conference call promoting UFC 114.

After the fight Evans approached Jackson and asking to train with him. "I don't want to train with you, man. You just disrespected my teammate'" responded Jackson.

"He was my favorite fighter," Evans said. "He was my dude. He really was one of the dudes, I was like, 'Man, I want to get into fighting.' When he got his *** whooped by Wanderlei (Silva), that kind of crushed me. But still, he was still my dude."

The pure speed, has Jackson fought anyone as fast as Evans in his past.. 5 fights? I dont think so. Evans has more technique also, on the ground he wont hold Jackson down for long, but he can do some damage for the time being.

Some damage like he did to an injured Silva? Oh wait... He did no damage that fight. My bad.

Anyone else feel like Jackson looks absolutely huge right now? I hope he doesn't have a hard time making weight for the fight. Either way I'm looking forward to this fight, and after all the hype these guys are creating I hope they don't come out and put on a snooze fest.

I'm going to go with Rampage in this one, and I think it will be some what of an exciting fight.

he just looks flat out scary in that training at the end there. He looks like he's in Rampage mode and he's ready to rock.

Evans - Via Avoiding An Actual Fight.

But my point was - how exactly is he going to do damage to Rampage on the ground when all the could manage was to dry hump Silva's leg for a few seconds before being pushed off?

I don't think its safe to assume that just because rampage has a perceived striking advantage that evans will try and take it to the mat.

He didn't bother to go for takedowns against a guy with good TDD and striking in chuck. He didn't take it to the mat against forrest either (who has under-rated striking and an over-rated guard/bjj). Instead rashad elected to load up on counters. Rampage is in the same class as chuck in terms of elite TDD/striking.. but without the suspect chin/aging handspeed.

If evans/g-jackson think they can win a grapplefest I wouldn't be shocked but I'm still looking for him to try and out point page until he finds an opening for a bomb.. at least until he gets caught for the first time or frustrated with losing exchanges.

Yeah, but that was pre-getting knocked the bleep out by Machida. The very next fight against Silva, who is a good striker, saw Evans avoiding the standup. It's only natural for somebody to be a little timid to stand up after getting knocked out for the first time. This will be an interesting fight for Evans now that some time has passed since the Machida fight. I hope he is willing to stand and trade with Rampage but you just never know.
