Rory is hurt so Claude Patrick takes his place against Brian Ebersole.

I was looking forward to that fight

Never heard of the replacement, but he has an impressive record I guess

Claude Patrick is really good, but it seems like (in his fight against Roberts at least) that he just coasted to a decision, kind of like Dodson in the last TUF fight.

I almost forgot this card was going on this weekend until I saw a commercial for it today.

Machida is an interesting matchup for Jones, style-wise, but Bones is just so dynamic and explosive that I don't know if Machida will be able to avoid all of the stuff Jones throws at him.

I agree. It's crazy the amount of cards that have been happening lately, and it is only getting better with more and more stacked cards

I am a fan of both fighters, so I am really looking forward to this fight. It could become a real chess match, since they are both so cerebral.

That's a solid top-3. Could be Tito's swan song if he doesn't get the W. I'm hoping he does win, though, as I'm still a fan.

Idk, I've never looked at Bones as cerebral. More so just overwhelming. That's what I think makes this intriguing. Machida being the cautious counter fighter and Bones being the aggressor.

When he beat Shogun he did it in a smart manner. He could have easily punched himself out, but he picked his shots to finish him off. Jones is most definitely an aggressor, but he is patient when he does so.

Well it's finally here. Can't say anything's convinced me that Machida will win this fight. Does anyone really thing "the puzzle" that is Machida is gonna be too complex for Jones to figure out?

The Machida, who was defeated by Shogun twice and continually hit by Rampage en route to another defeat? The same Shogun and Rampage whom Jones gave severe beatings?

                          I don't see it.

Of course it's a fight, and anything can happen, but IMO the smart money is on Jones.

I do think Jones is a weirdo though. He's so confused as to how or why people think he's arrogant or cocky. While I don't necessarily think he's either, I do think he's a bit self absorbed. There's a difference.

Notice below how he wonders aloud why fans would think he's arrogant.. then proceeds to refer to himself in the third person in two different ways:

As Jones has become one of the freshest faces and brightest young stars in the UFC, there's been something of a backlash among MMA fans , and Jones said he hears from fans on Twitter who tell him he's too cocky or arrogant. Jones said he's not sure what he's done to inspire that kind of backlash, but he has learned to accept it.

"I could see if I was Floyd Mayweather," Jones said, referring to the brash boxing champ who seems to delight in making fans hate him. "I deal with it by realizing that not everyone's going to love you."

Although Jones has become a star, he says that hasn't changed who he is deep down -- even though he has changed as a fighter and become, in his own mind, better than ever.

"In high school I got the free lunch because we didn't have the finances to go to Wendy's for lunch like the other kids," Jones said. "That I got good at fighting ... that changes nothing about the real world. I have changed as an athlete -- I believe in my heart that I'm the best, I believe I won't lose to Lyoto, or Rashad [Evans], or [Dan] Henderson or any of the other guys. ... As 'Bones' I'm growing and yeah I'm a little cocky and it's important to be that way. But as Jonathan, in the real world, everyone who meets me will say I treated them with the utmost respect."

I think Jones is just too big and strong. Remember how big he looked compared to Shogun, and Shogun looked big compared to Machida.

Only chance I see is that Machida gets in one of his precise counters that turns out Jones lights.

Frankly i don't get why people think jones is cocky/arrogant either. Anyway i expect jones to win, machida isn't the same anymore. Now he's by no means an easy opponent and jones could definitely lose if he takes machida lightly. But he's not as good as he used to be.

Styles make fights, I think Machida is a great style matchup for him. That being said I still think Jones will win.
